I know that there's been a lot of criticism of Brisette for the Buffalo game, but that dude f**cking man'd up last week. Sure he didn't score any touchdowns, but for a rookie QB playing with that busted up hand - gotta give him respect. Hope he heals up and comes back to play at a higher level.

not for a lack of trying. shoulda had 1 from bolden, and a second with jules if not for a phantom PI call.

Plus a missed FG and two other trips to the red zone that yielded no points.

He showed a lot of mental and physical toughness. I like this kid. Now I understand more why Parcells took a shine to him. I really wouldn't mind having him stick around.

Nahhh JB is good. That loss was on the D. Diddnt you hear?

It's 8 weeks minimum on IR. In theory, they could activate Brissett instead of Vollmer (or anyone else who goes to IR early enough to be brought back).

Vollmer's on PUP. Can come back after week 6 (not likely). Can activate him up until week 14.

I don't think anyone who knows what they're talking about has criticized Brisette for the Buffalo game.

Three points:

1) Brissette is a warrior. He got them a win when people were counting them out and then played QB with a throwing hand that needed surgery. I imagine that his "Respect" quotient in that locker room must be near the top.

2) Wrecks Ryan can now boast that he beat the Pats when they were starting a third string, rookie QB who had surgery on his throwing hand the week after the game.

3) It looks like BB and Josh decided that they had a "game to give" with three wins under their belt in Brady's absence. The D did its part by giving up only one TD. Who know what would have happened if Blount had been able to get untracked.

Conspiracy Theory Department.

OK. Those of you who have been readiing my posts for a long time know that I'm the last guy to float conspiracy theories...but....

Rex Ryan's comment about his "source" in the Patriots locker room gets curioser and curioser.

Did the Bills not only know that Garoppolo wasn't going to suit up but that they could key on stopping Blount because Brissette was a lot more hurt than the Patriots were letting on?

If I were BB and Jonathan, I'd be sorting through the names of everyone who knew the extent of Brissette's injury and who was privy to the Garoppolo information. And, I'd be getting ready to fire someone.

Wow. Faces of Death. That's an oldie. I remember hearing about that from an old friend and watching it back in the '80's. Not for the queasy

Its been a while since I watched them. Just weird crap you watch hanging out in a dorm room....

I, on the other hand on this board am the king of conspiracy theories (not in real life but in sports).

While I don't think something went on, the mere fact that Ryan said he had inside information on an opposing player's injury status should cause the NFL to go in full investigation mode.

I'm dead serious with this. It pisses me off that NFL Security hasn't crawled up his ass because you know
goddamn well if BB said that all hell would break loose..

Vollmer's on PUP. Can come back after week 6 (not likely). Can activate him up until week 14.

Why is it not likely? Does anyone know what he severity is of his hip injury?

Hope they don't make him take that haircut.

Agreed. I know its in the CBA but the kid came in, performed well and did his job (except for BUF) but as we now know he was limited.

Yep; and had Brissett slid inside the Billiards' 15 - or, better still, thrown to Blunt and let him try to power his way to a 1st down - instead of fumble with his bad thumb, the Pats have 17 points right there. Then subtract 4 points from the Billiards because of the OPI on Robert Woods during the McCoy TD that the criminal zebras did not call, and we're talking about an entirely different ball game.

Many reports last couple of months. Here latest from Rich Hill f.e.:
OT Sebastian Vollmer: PUP, hip, shoulder. Vollmer is dealing with a long list of injuries and isn’t expected to return this year.

All are mostly speculative. My “not likely“ refers to possibility of him being activated immediately after week 6. I still think they might bring him back if they need him. That's why I added the last window (week 14).

But to give you something positive on old guy, he was reportedly helping Scruggs getting in the building at Gillette .. so its not like he's not there or not trying ..

Yep. Thanks for the summary. I've read the reports that have said it is unlikely he will make it back but....thats it. No meat or other info.

The fact that he is helping Scruggs in the building is pretty cool and to some extend a positive development.

I think they need him. Cannon is OK but Vollmer gives me a little more confidence.
