I noticed that when Bennett entered the locker room after Sunday's win, he first greeted Kraft, and then went directly to JB and you could hear his endearing greeting "JACOBY" No nickname please... just Jacoby or Brissett.
Probably the best nickname in football. I think the Truth is probably the best in sports. Big Baby probably the most fitting lol...I didn't hear any complaints about Pot Roast.

That may be, but there's also a history in this country of comparing blacks to animals and animal parts.
Brisket might be an ok name for a big beefy white lineman (although I would hate that too as offensive) but it certainly doesn't fit a black qb in a predominately white city.
I'm not feeling the disrespect here -- it's an obvious twist on his name with no negative cultural connotations. And most importantly, it only took off here in the admiring, welcome-aboard posts that followed his strong preseason play. IOW, "Jacoby Brissett" was just some random college prospect. "The Brisket" is ours.
More troubling, after much discussion we STILL don't have any consensus on what to call that Garopoppolollo kid.
