Jack Jones will practice, remain with team

He is indeed relatively new to the position, but he's also an older prospect so he shouldn't have to be sat-on like a 20/21-year-old either... I'll actually be a little disappointed if he isn't part of the Regular rotation at DE by the end of the season.
I'll be disappointed if he hasn't at least matched Josh Uche in a contract year. Mostly because I'm not pumped about the prospect of paying that guy $15mil/yr. And Judon's up after next year.

I can also see Mills as our starting FS; I like his size back there... The problem with that might be, in that scenario I would then prefer Jonathan in the Slot with Gonzo & Jackie on the Outside, but that would leave us without depth behind the two kids... Just one more decent Outside veteran, and I would feel a LOT better about our overall D-Backfield.
The drawback on Mills at deep safety is the speed. And considering he hasn't played the position in a couple of years, having the instincts to make up for it (like McCourty last year), would be critical.

Also, Marcus Jones still exists, and can certainly spot Jonathan Jones in the slot quite well. Jonathan might be starting slot, backup boundary, and if that's the plan, I'm more than ok with it.

Basically, I don't think we need another guy. That said, I'm really disappointed they didn't bother to upgrade Myles Bryant.

I agree with this plan. If Jon Jones gets hurt, Marcus Jones can replace him. If one of the outside CBs hurt, Jon Jones replaces them and Marcus Jones replaces Jon Jones. If you have multiple injuries then you get Myles Bryant, but that’s your doomsday scenario. It’s also possible Ameer Speed or Isaiah Bolden beat Bryant out. Even if that happens, Bryant may still stay as a depth safety.

Agreed.

Yep, I see Marcus as our backup Slot (if Jon isn't moved to FS) & primary Returner... If he can prove that he's ready to be our starting Slot, that would actually solve a couple of problems for us at the same time.

Which is why we need another guy.

There's only so many DBs you can keep on the roster though, too. Personally, I'd rather not be limited to 4WRs and 3RBs every week like they were a ton last year.

As would I... There is a solution to both problems however, though I'm not sure many people want to hear it...

If it's 'put Marcus Jones as a regular on offense', then yeah, I don't want to hear it

Not willing to go that far, though I can see him in a play or two every other game or something along those lines...

My suggestion is actually to have fewer STOs in the building if they can't play a regular position at replacement-level quality.

I mean, that's a fair take. Although in my mind, the STs needs all the help they can get after last year's putrid performance.
Another case from me where I have to see it on the field before I can give an actual take myself.

I prefer Peppers to Mills.
I do think Peppers, Dugger and Phillips can be on the field at the same time, along with Jones, Jones and Gonzo. dime package a lot, with Mapu as the spy.

I've been singing the veteran depth corner need all off season.. we always have seemed to bring in depth vets each offseason. This off season not sure why.. not. We are very thin on the outside after gonzo and Jack j.

I know Marcus can play outside but I'd prefer a vet with size.

This defense had better gel a bit during camp. That Eagles offense could be the best in the league. They can run and throw. This team can't go 1-3 to open the season and say it's just an extension of the pre-season. I would love to see this defense kick the Eagles in the teeth week 1.
If we can keep Hurts in the pocket you've won half the battle. Hurts athletic ability can break down the toughest defenses.

Make him a pocket passer and our chances are much greater week 1.

Easier said than done he's getting his one way or another that Sanders kid is pretty sick too skill wise very balanced Team.

I'm not sure about that one... Short-yardage packages, yeah maybe.

Our defense isn't the Swiss cheese Chiefs defense.. they last faced. we are much more sound and talented on defense.. at some point we need to contain one these running QB's.. start it off right with hurts. They are talented all over. However it all starts with hurts..

I like mills.. if he can make it out of camp without injuries then he'll definitely be in the rotation.. however peppers Dugger and Phillips us dam good trio
