Ot: based on a quick Google search, Buffalo averages around 95 inches of snow a year while the 95 corridor in mass is closer to 55 inches....

So on average, my point remains valid.

It depends on what you mean by Buffalo. Trust me, I get calls from family in New England every time it snows in the region. Meanwhile, we don't get even a flake in the city. It hardly snows here. But in the southtowns, the Lake Effect belt, they get walloped.

South of the city, the average total of 91 inches is probably understated. We drive all the time to go skiiing, and we go from sun to clouds and snow being dumped on us. The reason is simple. Buffalo is on the Niagara River, Canada is just a few minutes walks across the bridge from Buff., whereas the south towns are on Lake Erie.
