His attorneys will do the speaking for him at the right time in the right forum..

For some reason there are those who equate silence with an admission of guilt, nothing is further from the truth... Goodell allegedly wants to hear this appeal as he wants to listen to #12's side of the story, in reality Brady can remain silent, for the most part, and allow his legal team to rebut the Wells Report..

This whole thing is about a world that expects immediate responses to complicated situations..

3) A press conference is not an appropriate forum for me to discuss the case now, with my appeal ongoing.
4) After the case is fully resolved I will be happy to answer questions.
5) The facts of the case clearly support my innocence and the truth will be heard.

Of course, it would be nice if he sent his fans and supporters a message saying something like, "To all those concerned with the recent allegations, I categorically deny ever instructing anyone to manipulate football psi pressure to a range outside the parameters of the applicable rule. I won't be issuing any further public statements on the matter except during formal proceedings. Thank you for your support."

1) I am innocent of the charges that have been leveled against me.
2) I intend to vigorously oppose these false charges by all means necessary.
3) A press conference is not an appropriate forum for me to discuss the case now, with my appeal ongoing.
4) After the case is fully resolved I will be happy to answer questions.
5) The facts of the case clearly support my innocence and the truth will be heard.

I think that would work but I don't think there's anything to gain either way. Those who think he's guilty will just say it's a weasel statement, those who think he's innocent will continue to think that. Maybe they'll release something as the appeal date gets closer.

Yes, when you have better advice you do just that. Ben Violin, Rob Parker, and Marshall Faulk are professionals who understand football and media relations better than any lawyer ever will, and they are just looking out for Tom's best interests. Brady should listen to them, admit his guilt and apologize for deflating balls and fixing games so that other teams would lose, so he should just beg forgiveness and provide Marshall with a lifetime of pedicures.
