Is this the cliff that Max Kellerman has been talking about? Or are the receivers just that bad?

Often LaCosse, Watson, and/ or Dorsett are used there, none of whom will get a target from Brady unless they are completely uncovered.
That one's a Brady problem, not a McDaniels problem.

Brady is the undisputed leader of this team he needs to lead these guys in a different way than the frustrated Vet approach he's been taking.

THIS x 100

No. Kellerman's cliff was the cliff his career is failing over till he started talking about the Patriots.

Both.

LeCosse is probably close to average as a #2 TE. He can block. He has been injured.
Obviously, we need a starting TE for 2020. Apparently, Belichick was surprised by Gronk's retirement and decided to make do with Watson, LeCosse and Izzo.

Josh and Brady have a month to work things out, but I think that there is really only one place to look for major improvement: WR. If there is none, then we are unlikely to be in AFC title game.
I'm pretty sure the Pats have the least number of catches from the TE position so far this year. When he has been on the field, lacasse has not approached average. Maybe he's limited by his injuries, but on field performance wise, he's below average. Watson is simply limited. He looks like a once skilled player whose best days are long, long gone. As for Gronk's retirement, there were plenty hints or even predictions that he was done. No excuse for not signing or drafting a legit replacement. Not a Gronk level replacement, but a serviceable replacement. And even given the Lacasse signing, they are sorely missing a true blocking TE. Maybe LaCosse will get healthy over the last 4 games and morph into a top 15 TE, but there has been no indication that this is about to happen.
