Is it worth it to stick with Galloway?

Galloway has been a huge disappointment this year--remember we thought this guy was supposed to outdo Stallworth and Gaffney? Pats fans are becoming too midwestern-like with their patience for players. I think TWO full regular season games, a full preseason, an ultra rigorous training camp, dozens of practice sessions, and numerous film room discussion meetings has been more than AMPLE time for Galloway to get on the same page with Brady. Gotta have the guts to cut, it's time I think--I'm sure week 3 will be make or break for Galloway.

I agree with the previous responses that Nunn should get some playing time. He looked really good in preseason(for what it's worth who knows). What impressed me about Nunn was not his speed, but the way he makes physical adjustments towards ball thrown his way--catching the ball at its peak, or making subtle body maneuvers to snag a ball slightly underthrown in the middle of the field. He did his best to make Hoyer look better than he really was. This is a great quality for a receiver, and every qb loves this. I hope BB gives Nunn a chance, it's the best option I think right now for the no. 3 slot

In 2006, Gaffney played in 11 games for the Patriots. He had a total of 11 receptions. He had 36 receptions in 2007 and 38 in 2008.

His catch totals for the first 7 games of 2007: 1,1,2,0,1,2,1. He had only 3 games all that season with 5 catches or more, to go along with 0 games in 2006 and 4 in 2008.

Galloway had 5 catches in his second game with the team. Just for giggles, let's give the old man some time.

Yea - fast guys always to greeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaat in this system. I hear CJack and Bethel are available. They both run sub 4.4s too.

I guess you could read my response as some simplified praise for fast receivers, and then compare the performance of a veteran receiver with proven success in the NFL to rookies in the Pats' system that never amounted to much. Not a great comparison as many rookie receivers lack the overall skill set, of which speed is one skill, to play in the pros. Galloway has shown he can play at the pro level. Jackson and Johnson never really did, with at best isolated success in games.

Or you could read my response as a reference to his age in the OP/quoted text, suggesting even if Galloway lost a step he is still supposedly pretty fast. If somebody is that much faster than other receivers to begin with and slows down to only somewhat faster, there is a chance that individual may have some value on the field despite his diminished skills.

Sigh!
You're messing up folks with facts. Galloway's 5 catches in 2 games in much worse for folks than Gaffney's 1 catch a game for all of 2006 and for half of 2007. Gaffney's awesome first year is unmatchable after all.

There is very little choice now except to stick with Galloway.

Belichick opted early on not to re-sign Gaffney. BB showed the

door to a wide receiver who knew the Patriot's offensive scheme

and added a veteran receiver who had more potential but did not

know the system. Until Galloway and Brady start clicking, there will

grumbling about dumping him.

Galloway has very little to do with the problems this team has. I thought he played OK against the Jets. He is a third option, no more. This team's problems boil down to the play of Brady, and no pass rush whatsoever. Brady has had way too many passes sail on him during the 1st 2 weeks. We do not even have an avg pass rusher on the roster. Combine that with Pees's uncreative schemes, and you have a team that is going to struggle all year. For all BB has done during his time in NE, I have no idea whay he doesn't have the ability to identify or bring in quality pass rushers to the Pats.

Yes, it's worth. Especially with Moss and Welker currently battling injuries. Galloway needs to step the **** up, though...

Douche bag troll.

I'm guessing you are some 14 year old (I hope) Jets fan who's amuses himself by pretending to be a Patriots fan?

Get lost, troll.

Talk about living in the past.

YOu lousy bum, how dare you criticize me as a troll. I was probably rooting for this team before you were born. You're a kennyB if ever I saw one.
