Is it possible Bill can save his job by benching Mac Jones and blaming the season on him?

An average QB isn’t missing those plays. An average qb finds the open guys that are better choices than Jones is making. The receivers are open enough for him to compete a good % of his passes. The problem is he isn’t throwing to the right guy many times leading to short passes requiring long drives where he inevitably screws up a 3rd down.
It’s as bad as I have ever seen.
And how do you explain the last int? That play alone should prove he just doesn’t belong.
That last INT was an all timer and should be the nail in Mac’s NEP coffin.

LOL! No you see Mac defenses where there isn’t any because you are an irrational Mac hater.

I have blamed Mac for not being mentally tough enough and turtling. Done it a billion times.

And as for the line not being 100% perfect crap is just your ignorance. Not being able to block is not “not blocking 100% perfect on every play”. Here is video. This is just god awful blocking. If you cannot assign some of the blame on the o-line, you just prove you are an irrational Mac hater.

The first one, seriously? Tackle by a finger? Elliot was open.
Second one was a jail break, that happens.
Third one you don’t show the receivers, but he had time to throw. Looks like he made a business decision to brace for the hit.

Where is the one BOB was pissed off about?

Let’s say none of the sacks were his fault. Explain choking in throws to the end zone.

No, if the patriots had a real qb they would be a competent offense and be at least a .500 team.
Juju was not benched. Boutte played 1 game because someone was injured. That’s not a benching.
Raegir was on the practice squad.

The rotation has been almost exclusively because of injury.

Our ceiling being a .500 team with decent QB play isn't the flex you think it is.

Juju was a healthy scratch one game. Reagor is the Patriots deep threat WR by a mile. He is only guy who get down field with any speed other than Thornton.

And this would not be a competent offense with a real QB. It would be a bottom tier offense. It just wouldn't be one of the worst. It would be something like the 25th best offense in the league opposed to one of the two worst.

It was worse than a Legarm Newton throw.
100% a choke job. Watching him ready to cry yesterday is telling. He has never, ever made plays in the clutch. He always fails to. Clutch exists, and it exists as some people play their best in the most critical moment and some play their worse.
It is overwhelmingly obvious that in that most important moments Mac Jones plays his worst.

“At least” is not ceiling.
And it’s not even decent it’s not pissing himself 3 times with every other player putting us in a position to win and him screwing it up.

It’s not even touching what would have happened in other games we played poorly or even handed them away with turnovers and TDs for the other team.

In 10 games the offense has scored 15 TDS for the patriots and 4 for the opponents.
That’s a net of 11 TDs in 10 games. How can you possibly defend the author of that?

Not really but this is belittling him:

That incident was from 1995, 28 years ago, and has nothing to do with this conversation.. keep googling there has to be something out there.
This conversation had to do with BB continuing to coach into his 70's..
Levy went to the SB in the 90's 4 times in a row and walked away with nothing..

Elliot wasn't open. Being open after the QB has a player coming down on him is not open. I posted the screen shot. When Jones had to get the ball out, Elliot had his back to the ball and hadn't made his cut yet. That isn't open.

Here is the screen shot again. Mac's is ready to throw, the defender is almost on him. Zeke is not looking back for the ball. Therefore, he isn't open.

I think your problem is you don't know how to watch film.

And as for the one O'Brien was pissed about, it is probably one of the ones where someone is legitimately open and Mac didn't throw to him. Evan Lazar pointed out three of those plays in this game.

They are open, watch the film.
BS. Baldinger who is one of the best out there at breaking down film was on the radio and specifically said when he breaks down Pats film that the lack of separation is glaring. Our WR core is horrible.

There are plays all over the field not being bade because of the Qb. How many QBs would have thrown that pick yesterday? How many QBs have ever, in any season, with any supporting cast led their teams to 11 net TDs in 10 games?

Do you watch other teams, where the qb throws more than 5 yards downfield accurately? How many of those you got from Mac?

You froze it before Elliot cut and was open. Jones knows the route. There is a 3 years cushion when he breaks. That’s a completion 100 times out of 100 with a competent QB.
Problem is he isn’t looking. The guy he is staring at is open too. Depending on the rest of the route juju may be also.

Edit. TE on the right not as open in reality as in screenshot But my GOD juju is WIDE open. No one within 5 yards.

See what you are doing? What does one really, really bad throw by Mac to a receiver who was open have to do with receivers being open all over the field?

Yes, Jones has fallen completely apart. He should be benched. That doesn't excuse all the other players on offense playing like garbage. And they are playing like garbage.

Andy knows more than Baldinger. Duh.

I froze the shot at the point where Jones had to get rid of the ball. We agree that Zeke was open when he made the cut, but he made the cut too late. Here is the screen shot from when Zeke makes his cut. Explain to me how Mac was going to make that throw while being leg whipped by the defender.

We went though this same crap last year with people claiming receivers were open because they made their break too late and were open after the ball was thrown or Mac was sacked. Zeke is clearly not open on this play because he hadn't made his cut nor looked back for the ball. He was not an option on this play.

No offense, but you need to learn how to watch film before you tell others that what they are seeing on film isn't true.

What I am doing is illustrating that one of the easiest TD passes in the league yesterday was underthrown by 7 yards (about 40%) by our guy costing us the game.
52 other players played well enough to win if #10 didn’t choke on an easy play any qb should make in his sleep.

Because they aren’t playing like garbage and you can’t tell because the QB sucks.
Look at JUJU on the play you posted a screenshot of. He runs an in and there is an 8 yard window.
Henry and gesicki ran TD routes.
Jones doesn’t understand what is happening in front of him and when he dies he chokes.

First, 52 other players did not play well enough to win. If you think that, you are insane. The offensive line was awful in the first half. Lowe was benched because he couldn't handle his blocking assignment. Mac was sacked five times in the first half. The Patriots scored six points. The kicker missed a chip shot FG. Zappe threw an INT with enough time to still win the game. JuJu had several presnap penalties. Henry fumbled the ball (luckily it was recovered by Andrews).

Wrong. Zeke isn’t just running wherever he wants. 10 knows the route. QBs have to throw the ball before the break. This is not to mention that he walked into a player laying in the ground to let him sack him.

Zeke is 100% open. Maybe this is why you are confused. A qb doesn’t wait until after the cut and then decide.
Zeke is open because we know he is running an out and the defender is playing inside leverage and giving a cushion.
If you roll forward the TE on the right looks in your world, open but he really isn’t because the defender wasn’t giving cushion and is ready to break it up.
A COMPETANT QB READS THAT.

And what about juju? Wide open for a 20 yard gain.

If someone has to twist themselves into knots to prove the roster is actually good and guys are constantly open...it's not and they are not.

No one actually believes this is a good roster except for the Bill homers.

Still keep hearing about Thornton being open in the all-22! And he played 0 snaps yesterday.

I never once defended that at all. But our ceiling when playing our best being a .500 team is not good.

Not sure why it's such a hard concept. But Mac can be bad and the receivers/roster/ol can also be garbage
