Is Brady Entering his final year?

In a compacted league, Lebron has one less round of playoffs to get through, but is his road to a title easier? He may suddenly face a non-zero number of worthy opponents in the East.

in most of the russell championship years, the celtics only had to play in 2 series to win the championship because they were the top seed in the eastern division, and the top seed had a bye during the first round.

so that's 2 fewer series than today, combined with the advantage of being fresh against your first opponent who had to play 4 to 7 3 to 5 games in the first round. i don't think that's a harder road to win a championship.

Fixed the obvious errors in your post for you.
Post 255 describes Russell's UNIQUE approach to the game well. It made him a Championship Machine.
That's fine. I think Brady is the greatest football player of all time and you don't

That's why we're here

Also, changing the words in someone's post is against board rules.

Slow your roll.
When Brady gets his 12th then you can perhaps talk about him being the sports player ever.

Not really fair. Football has a lot more variables in it than Basketball. A single NBA player can control a game more than a QB in football and there are 5-7 game series not a 1 game elimination format in each round.

Also lets be real Bill Russell would not win 11 championships in today's NBA. He was one of the first athletes of his type in that sport. A guy getting 20+ rebounds per game just won't happen anymore.

The only guy who came close to this in the modern NBA (80s on) was Dennis Rodman and even he never broken 20 in a single season. And he was a rebounding specialist whose whole game was built around it unlike the more balanced games of Wilt/Russell.

To expect them to do even as good as Rodman did when ALL he did was wait for bounces off the rim is a stretch. Also let me be clear and i know this will piss people off. From what I have seen of video and replays Rodman is the best pure rebounder of all time. Yes more than Russell or Chamberlain. If he had played in their era he would have had more RPG than they did. Here come the dislikes and disagrees i am sure.

But that is a bit off topic. Point being. Different sport in a different era with a new kind of player it was not ready for we will never seen a modern pro sport have a player win 11 championships again and it won't be case other people won't be as good as Russell. It will be cause that perfect storm that allowed such a thing to happen will not happen again. With so much money, interest and technology on display. No surprises last long anymore. The idea of an entire league never coming up with a solution to deal for 1 dominant player winning ever single year in a team sport is crazy.

A few days ago I was browsing this thread and thinking “no way”. After the Gisele episode I feel like it’s all but certain now. Fighting off father time is so hard, surely he can’t do that without his family’s support? And if he’s not aiming for mid-forties anymore, next year (hopefully with the 6th ring) would be the perfect time to hang it up.

Even though the NFL protects the QB position now more than it did before.. We have seen Brady take massive beatings, against Seattle, Against Denver in the AFCC and even against the Falcons. Brady gets wacked all the time, as he enters his 40's I am going to cringe every time he takes a hit.. **** I already do.
