Got to listen to the hub this morning... Don't often get to listen, so something different from eei...

Touchers show made a point that was interesting... Something I haven't picked up on.. they said whenever the Pats were looking to pass deep, the Seahawks were in a two high safety formation... Like they knew what we were running...

Just a tendency of AVPs play calling? Certain personnel groupings? TT / KO out there signals pushing it deep (or deeper than normal)...Line formations or set ups? Are the tackles cheating off the line a bit?

Anyone pick up on this?

Might have to go for one of the NFL streaming packages if I want to confirm this... Rewatching makes it easier to spot and chart, when you can replay certain down and distances... Get to see what packages or groupings are out on the field, etc ...

It's troublesome to think after just two weeks of play that defenses can predict our play calling with such accuracy, if what toucher & co said is true

Can't pass Deep with V Lowe @ Left Tackle I thought Onwenu had a poor game too @ Right Tackle. AVP obviously can't run his entire Offense with these abysmal Tackles. I know his Playbook loves to go deep especially if the run game is solid but he hasn't been able to take advantage of that. Hopefully he adds some new wriggle to the Offense Tonight to get the WR's more involved. That said the instant pressures we have given so far is unreal Defenses don't have to blitz to get there.

Time for him to create a "Skunkworks" division in the O room... Use a bit of creativity to change things up... Hopefully specifically designed play calls that get the ball out of captain slowcoby's hands asap

How can you be innovative when you have the worst OL and WRs as a group in league other than Carolina?
He wasn't all that innovative with his last team. No one was drooling over the Browns offense the last few years. The reason he's here is because his meat-and-potatoes system is easy to pick up for a team that just drafted a new QB.

I am not going to worry about the predictability of the offense in two weeks with a new system and a lot of new players on offense from last year. A lot of times in systems like this they slowly roll out the packages as players get comfortable with them. If the Patriots are predictable in week 8, then it is a problem.

And that is why the Patricia comparisons aren't fair. In 2022, the Pats were about as predictable late in the season as they were early in the season.

I was suprised that given how much they were running the ball, we never saw Brissett start faking the handoff and making a throw on Sunday, or at least not to my recollection. And if they did, I don't recall seeing a true play fake or anything to throw off the coverage.

With all the talk we've heard about that being a part of this offensive system, I would say that's one disappointment I came away with last weekend. We saw it a lot during preseason and a little in Week 1, but why we didn't really see it against Seattle was surprising. Especially after the game started to turn. With their rush coming the way it was, would have seemingly been a great time to try and catch them and potentially make a few plays.

When tipping plays has come up in the past, it’s generally been attributed to a single player’s stance rather than anything related to play calling.

@Pape

They said the TEs were going to be featured vs Seattle, and they were. Clearly they felt that was the area to exploit vs Seattle, not the vert game. I'm not hand wringing yet on all this crap. I know a lot is made about the lack of production (again) by the WR's but especially vs Seattle. I think they were trying to control the clock and pound the ball. I don't think they want to get into a vert passing game vs most teams, even if they try to morph into a team that takes what the D gives.

The Hub's job is to stir up chit. Not even going to give them even the smallest of space in my brain.

I expect Sauce to shut down whoever he's on tonight, so now we're talking about half the field gone. We will see how it goes, but I don't expect a vert game tonight, either.

It's often the stance / weight shift of O-linemen that tips off pass vs. run. But that would not be a "tell" occurring soon enough to let the D affect their alignment. So it probably is predictability in formation and personnel.

I believe BRISKET begins to sweat profusely and twitch when deep pass play calls come in from the sideline.

It could be JBs way of saying we should never throw it
