Just read the article. Ouch. They need to tuck Patricia away in some dark corner of the stadium if BB really wants to keep him around (Gimp style). Judge on the other hand needs to be told "You leave town tonight, right now, and when you're gone, you stay gone, or you be gone. You lost all your Foxboro privileges."

Bill can lock up both Patrica and Judge and they can alternate between being Zed and Marcellus Wallace. keep them far away from the team

We ALL knew it, we ALL knew it before the season began.
So, why on earth is BB so stubborn and prideful that he didn't at least can Judge during the season when it was clear he was useless and causing issues all over the place? MP was bad enough, but it sounds like Judge was actively ruining things. BB says he doesn't like to make changes mid-season... well so what! Your owner is losing millions because you don't want to embarrass some leach. Really causes legitimate concerns of BB's priorities.
Not to mention, would let them (JJ & MP) keep Bourne in the doghouse most of the year to support a lame duck asst. coach???

I think by the time Bill recognized he couldn't make it work it was too late to bring someone in to teach the players, it would have been throwing an awful lot on the players halfway through to do a 180.

I agree with you. There’s a reason BB wanted it implemented to begin with. That Patricia and Judge didn’t know how to do it doesn’t mean he’s given up on it; maybe he’ll ask BOB to be part of it. I could be wrong here if course, wouldn’t be the first time snd won’t be the last.

I think part of his rationale is that you don’t need an elite QB to win with that style, just a good one will do. SF’s seamless transition from Jimmy G to Purdy just emphasizes that point. And it’s a great ball control offense (even with the deep shots) which helps keep opponents’ explosive offenses off the field. Whether Mac is that good QB remains to be seen, but it’s clear that after 2021 BB thought he could be.

I hope that is not his rationale. SF went seamlessly from Jimmy G to Brock because they have McCaffery (who possibly could be an all pro slot wr as well as rb), Deebo, Kittle and Aiyuk as weapons, a four man front who can stop the run and get a pass rush and the best middle linebacker in football. You don’t need to have a stud QB, but is you don’t you need weapons like SF or the Titans last year with Derrick Henry and AJ Brown.

Reading what Judge says about how and what he's going to work w/ Mac on is not comforting. He literally sounds like he's winging it. He's known to have diarrhea of the mouth. Please do yourselves a favor and listen to some of his conferences while he was Giants HC (youtube). He's whacked.

I really hope this character doesn't screw Mac up and causes him to regress.

Saddest thing of this article? The media called out Bill and hiring Patricia/judge last spring!

And he just snorted and still made the poor decision anyway. I give him credit for admitting his mistake and hiring BOB. BUT he wasted a year because he thought he was smarter than everyone else in not hiring a real OC which he could've done and it's a totally different season

That's the kind of stuff that gets coaches fired. Not that I'm advocating for it

Anyone defending Fat Matt and Judge should be given a 7 day "cool off" by Ian.

To take it further, defending BB in his role in this debacle is also a punishable offense.

Not a mistake, and the Herald has issued an update to the story that this thread is based on:

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated Patriots assistant Joe Judge was not traveling to the East-West Shrine Bowl this week with the team’s coaching staff. Judge is expected to travel, and the story has been updated accordingly.

Time to send that guy packing, IMO.
