I'm still proud of Cassel

People are blaming Cassel right now because he's the most visible change. Cassel didn't give up 38 points. He played mediocre, but there's no reason to panic and pull him. The Dolphins always give the Pats trouble, and that combined with a colossal team collapse today. It wasn't just Cassel folks.

It wasnt Cassel but can he get this team in the endzone in the first half?People expect this defense to play like the 2001 defense but that defense was very young. This defense has aging veterans. The defense was terrible and should get all the blame but Cassel is what he is.He is gonna get u 165 yards to 185 and thats all.

It's amazing what a ****ty bunch of fans the Pats have. The second something goes wrong for Cassel, it's "Pull him out! Let's see O'Connell!" Sitting in the bar today, I started hearing this before the end of the first quarter. Never mind that Brady has had his share of crappy games as well (many against Miami). Never mind that it was brutally bad defense that put this game out of reach. Really crappy fair weather fans.

Its not all on Cassell, that for sure.... but

It sure seems the offense has no confidence in him including the coaching staff.

Lets also stop pretending that Cassell is going to have the same path as Tom Brady did...NOT going to happen

What has happened to Moss...hope he doesn't implode

13 Total points at home against the Miami Dolphins:

- A horrendously thrown pick into coverage for a pick to kill a drive
- 3 other passes that luckily for him were not picked, yet should have been.
- A lost fumble
- Even the 7 pts he did get were courtesy of Ellis Hobbs fantastic return and he managed to get it on a 4th down play against really was at that point a prevent defense.
- Some horrible reads and some even more horrible throws
- Staring down the primary WR constantly
- Very poor pocket presence leading to sacks which you can't always pin on the offensive line
- A wobbly ball even on completions, never, ever a tight spiral

He's an NFL backup at best, here's hoping for one of two things:

Kevin O'Connell
or
Jeff Garcia (if they want to salvage the season)

Otis Smith, Bryan Cox, Roman Phifer, and Anthony Pleasant rise unsteadily from their wheelchairs to wave hello.

I hope Moss doesnt start whining.Seriously, he has become a non factor in this offense.I wanna know what is everyone's fascination with Matt Cassel.I know u cant blame this loss on him but he makes this offense look like crap.

This was not the jason taylor and zach thomas dolphins folks... This was the last yr 1-15 fish... No excuse. poor coaching, poor play calling and poor execution..

All you guys chirping about how all he needs to do in manage the game need to remember that the defence isn't always going to hold the other team to under 10 points. They shouldn't be expected to. It's silly to think that Cassel will always have the lead and needs only to not screw up, HE NEEDS TO MAKE PLAYS. He's little more than a caretaker right now and unless the D shuts teams down while constantly being on the field, that will not be good enough.

Breathe... breathe.... breathe....
OK, better now? It was 1 game, even the GOAT has had games where he has looked horrendous.

Cassel didn't give up 38 points, but when he took the field with the chance to strike back and re-take the lead he went three and out. And he kept doing it.

Sorry Matt Cassel is what he is a back up Qb, who will win us 3 games ,but lose us 3 games.. this team is lacking something, and they showed no heart , none what so ever.. They got kicked in the mouth by a inferior team and they did not rise to the challenge.. This team is in a funk and the season is young, but there may be something to the super bowl hangover.. This team is in a funk, and Matt Cassel will not be able to get this team out of it.. This team is to talented and well coached to get beat like this at home by a team that was 1-15 and blown out by the cardnials last week.. NO EXCUSE.. Sorry except for 1 major one, No Tom Brady...

SO....you think O'connell or Garcia wouldhave meant we score 39 points to top the Dolphins.

Change QB's, all will be fine - defensive or offensive line play doesn' mean a thing...

Rather than piling on Cassel the Randy Moss bandwaggon riders ought to take a good hard look at their hero's refelction in the mirror. Even the annoying Charley Casserly observed BEFORE THE GAME that Moss wasn't moving well and looked disengaged even last week. Said he'd either lost a step this offseason or he's playing hurt or ... worse.

Randy has been saying all the right things but talk is cheap. $9M WR's are expected to make plays even for starters who hadn't started since 7th grade...

We've seen Faulk and Welker step up for him. And I guarantee you that's what Hobbs is thinking every time he fields a KO. None of them are captains... but maybe they should be.

Its one game,i expect the defense to play better against the 49ers but i dont see this offense changing under Cassel.Your not gonna keep winning games by managing the game.

Jeff Garcia would have put up 28 points today!!Who knows what would have happened.I guarantee u that Moss would have been a factor in the game.

Did last year skew your memory that much? This isn't the first time the patriots have ever looked like absolute trash against an inferior team. I am beginning to think that people believe the 2007 Patriots are the only measuring tool. Perspective people, perspective

I dont believe that Moss is hurt.If u asked me, he seems disinterested with Cassel at the helm.

You really should have watched the game.
