Sources: Bengals don't expect a Burfict ban

"The Cincinnati Bengals are not expecting linebacker Vontaze Burfict to be suspended? for the incident Sunday in which he was alleged to have stomped on LeGarrette Blount after the New England Patriotsrunning back scored a touchdown, league sources said.

A Bengals source said punishment for Burfict would amount to "a slap on the wrist for now," an indication he could be fined."

What I find ludicrous is that Burfict, who is a repeat offender, isn't expected to get anything more than a fine, but the NFL fines Edelman for a facemask that wasn't called and was actually part of a stiff arm..

Burfict is suspended 3 games for his history of cheap shots, then in his 3rd game back goes at the knee from behind, of a guy who isn't even involved in the play.
The NFL positions itself as some kind of severe disciplinarian, and decides that a guy who is suspended then comes back and does something worse (a hit while trying to make a play, however egregious is not nearly as bad as a hit to injure when there was no reason for the hit) and gets nothing.
This league must have a copyright on stupid.
