Dillon. When teams decide they want to shut down our current running game, they can. With Dillon's quality power running he was certain to pick up yards no matter.

Tough between Big Willie and Ty law, but I voted for Willie in his prime because him and Adalius together would've done exactly to Eli what the Giants D line was doing to Brady. Eli would then make numerous bad decisions which would've resulted in mucho fumbles and interceptions.

I immediately thought Ty Law, but the argument for Willie is good too.

Frankly, ditto on the one for Dillon.

Can't we bring back 3?

I picked Ty Law...but we could have used Big Willie too. We could have used both players in that game, IMO.

I wish we could have brought back Mike Haynes...he would have intercepted and scored five times on Goober Jr.

This is so not close. Ty Law would have made all the difference in the last drive (and probably the one before). Even O-T-I-S would have been a huge improvement.

Ty Law would've not only shut down the other receiver, but had a pick or two while he was at it.

We all know Ty is a Peyton killer (even thru last year's playoffs); I'm sure he would've been an Eli killer too

Well if you won't let me have Eason, how about Charlie Weis?

How about Junior Seau in his prime?

dillon hands down

maroney was running right into the rush. clock-killin dillon up the middle could have made a difference both in moving the ball as well as in keeping osi and strahan and tuck honest.

i picked dillon because i thought his impact across the entire game would have been greater by running smash mouth up the middle and keeping the rush honest. however, you make a strong point about the final drive. i would like to have seen what would have happened if he would have been in position on the TD. and i don't think he would have dropped the INT.

too many "woulds" in the above for me. I have to let go, accept that we got beat and move on. i'll drive myself crazy with could-haves, and would-haves and should-haves. We lost.

McGinest. Lack of a pass rush absolutely killed us in the SB. Match him up with Vrabel on the edges, and Manning gets harassed into throwing too early and heaving up at least a couple of interceptions. That would also have let us move AD back inside, so only one of Bruschi/Seau was on the field at any time, making this a substantial two position upgrade.

John Hannah at LG would have made all the difference. We would have been manhandling Tuck and/or the blitzing LB rather than the other way around.

Mike Haynes, anybody?

1. Rosevelt Colvin
2. The 2003 Rodney Harrison

I'd write in Bruschi, Harrison, Seymour, or Seau in their primes, which I guess sums up the problem with the Patriots' defense.

I swear someone DID bring back Max lane...
