I think the contributions of Cowden, Streicher, and Vrabel were critical but I think that what they really brought was clarity about the kind of team they wanted to build, and the specific types of players they wanted to target to build that team. I think Wolf’s strength is in evaluating and grading, as well as an overall sense of how the draft will unfold, but I think he will advise the head coach but defer to them on player selection, and he as said as much in saying that he “ isn’t going to force a player on them.” So I don’t think that they would have had anywhere near as successful an offseason had it been Mayo still in as head coach, and Wolf running personnel as what they have had with this regime.
