The 18-1 team just didn’t win the championship. It sucks, but it happened, or didn’t happen.

Fortunately the team rose from the ashes and rebuilt in 2010. That 18-1 loss would have been the end of most franchises.

I don’t understand why people want to give that team something they didn’t earn and deserve, even to the extent of taking something away from a team that earned and deserved it.

Had Butler & 28-3 not happened, it would be a bigger blemish on the goat's resume. But to me, SB 42 is a footnote in a great career. I don't even think about that loss anymore. All in all, six is better than four. Sorry, but I'm not trading in one more win in 07 if it means SB 49 & 51 don't happen.

Honesty, that 07 team was great. But I think the exhaustion of perfection wore on them. The Giants were playing with house money, Brady was injured, and things didn't look right from the moment BB walked out with that darn red hoodie. Btw, I hope that red hoodie is buried somewhere or burned.

It's actually a very interesting question that touches on perfect seasons, unblemished SB numbers and the question of Brady v. JAG, if you flesh it out. I'm actually tempted to take the 4 SBs, including the perfect season though, as of now, I'd probably stay with what's happened because of the length of time of greatness sort of being bookended by the SB wins.

Ask me after the upcoming SB and I might have a different answer, though.

As painful as 2007 was, for me, it led to a much greater appreciation of the last 2. Life wouldn't be very interesting if everything always happened the way you thought you wanted it to. Wouldn't change a thing.

Never understood the fascination with what might have been for this team, IMO they have done pretty darn good in this run of dominance...

They lost to the Giants in 2 SB's, if that is an issue for fans then they need to block out the noise and move on.. going to our 8th superbowl in the BB/#12 era is more than good enough for me..
