If the Patriots win...

No, not even close. Even though the hate 'force' is still strong, the relentless pummeling of the football public by the team has beaten down the Pats haters to the those who are mostly members of the 'hate' jihad, i.e. espn and most of the media. The casual haters are looking on to see how long this train will travel while hoping for a train wreck some day, but they can't help but watch less they miss the opportunity to see history made. That 2007 hate was off the charts.
Its suppressed for sure.

Once BB and TB12 are gone and the 8-8 seasons come I think the hate will be there still but people wont focus as much on it

What did Jake Tapper say,.......

I care less, not worth a reply.

You don't win 5 SBs cheating, if so all teams would find a way to cheat! Money for owners.

This team is really the major pro sports dynasty of the internet/social media domination age. I’m curious to see if the next dynasty has the same level of hate.

The closest comparison I can think of is LeBron, with (I think) 7 conference titles but only 3 league titles. However, in his case it wasn’t the same team all 7 times. He can be pretty douchey at times but I don’t see the same level of animosity there....

*IF* the Patriots cheat, just copy them. Right?

Belichicks 8th ring.

Crazy. out of 52 Super Bowls BB has coached in 11 of them. Record numbers will watch in hopes of seeing the Patriots lose. Already, rumors are that Brady is taking some sort of illegal supplement.

This franchise will be hated for eternity because rarely does the best QB and the best HC land on the same team.

His time with the Heat would actually be an apt comparison.

Most of the non-Patriot fans in real, meat-space are very impressed and amazed by the Patriots and admire them to some degree. My Lion's fan friends were rooting for Pats over Jags just because they wanted to see good football in the super bowl.

Maybe they act differently when not in my presence.

Internet comments are like road rage and bring out the worst in many.

Eh, I don’t know. It was a 4 year burst instead of an 18 year (and counting) run. 4 years is pretty quick but with NE, you have actual adults with no memory of a time when the Patriots were not contending each and every year.

Social media whores (and MSM whores for that matter) feed on attention. However, you don’t gain attention by being a level headed moderate. You get attention by speaking in hyperbole, taking everything to the extreme, and in many cases taking the contrarian point of view as loudly as possible.

The number of people rooting against the Patriots may be at an all time high right now.

But the depth of the hatred is a lot less than in 2007, because even most of the haters are saying that it's just time for someone else to win, they are tired of the Patriots, and they even concede the incredible nature of this run , that they are envious, and concede the plain fact that they are watching the GOAT QB and the GOAT head coach in action.

The majority of the people cheering against us seem to sound to some extent like Dolphins fan Joy Taylor (sister of Jason Taylor):

John Gabriel's Greater Internet F*ckwad Theory has passed the test of time as one of the most sacred truths ever written.

Reminds me of that Joni Mitchell song, "You don't know what you got til it's gone"? That is what it will be like when BB and TB12 are gone. I don't think it will be immediate but maybe about 3 or 4 years removed, people will start to finally appreciate them for how they dominated this sport with all of the obstacles against them.

This article touches on this point pretty well.

Why the NFL Needs the New England Patriots - The Ringer

People may hate the Pats with all their might now but in a few years, everyone will miss them because there will never be another duo who absolute destroy the league like them.

It's cray cray out here in Pa. The Yinzers to my west are losing their minds that the Pats are about to tie them for most Super Bowl(Not NFL) Titles. The knuckle draggers to my Southeast are best described as "Philly being Philly".

If the Pats win they set themselves up to do something in 2018 that no other team has done in the SB era... 3 in a row. If you think the hate is at an all time high now, just wait.

Just wait until next year.

Lebron hate while intense, is nowhere near what even Kobe got, let alone the Patriots. And Lebron save for 1 or 2 years in Miami, was never on the 'team to beat' that the current Warriors are, and what the Lakers/Spurs were for the majority of the post MJ era.
