Even though the hate 'force' is still strong, the relentless pummeling of the football public by the team has beaten down the Pats haters to the those who are mostly members of the 'hate' jihad, i.e. espn and most of the media. The casual haters are looking on to see how long this train will travel while hoping for a train wreck some day, but they can't help but watch less they miss the opportunity to see history made. That 2007 hate was off the charts.
This team is really the major pro sports dynasty of the internet/social media domination age. I’m curious to see if the next dynasty has the same level of hate.
The closest comparison I can think of is LeBron, with (I think) 7 conference titles but only 3 league titles. However, in his case it wasn’t the same team all 7 times. He can be pretty douchey at times but I don’t see the same level of animosity there....
Eh, I don’t know. It was a 4 year burst instead of an 18 year (and counting) run. 4 years is pretty quick but with NE, you have actual adults with no memory of a time when the Patriots were not contending each and every year. His time with the Heat would actually be an apt comparison.
Social media whores (and MSM whores for that matter) feed on attention. However, you don’t gain attention by being a level headed moderate. You get attention by speaking in hyperbole, taking everything to the extreme, and in many cases taking the contrarian point of view as loudly as possible. Most of the non-Patriot fans in real, meat-space are very impressed and amazed by the Patriots and admire them to some degree. My Lion's fan friends were rooting for Pats over Jags just because they wanted to see good football in the super bowl.
Maybe they act differently when not in my presence.
Internet comments are like road rage and bring out the worst in many.
and KT tape?if the patriots win.....
i splurge and treat myself to the "intense pleasure" K -Y jelly

Once BB and TB12 are gone and the 8-8 seasons come I think the hate will be there still but people wont focus as much on it
That may be taking it a smidge too far. A tattoo would suffice. If they win, do I hit up Photoshop and engrave the quote in my sig into a gravestone and use that as my sig?
