T Mac is a beast. Incredible yards after catch for his size. Separates elusively and runs routes very fluidly. He is also 6’5!!!

He played against double and triple coverage every game and still heavily produced.

Very fluid, great hands, runs well. Great at catching the ball away from his body. Great at jump balls.

He was not double or triple teamed much in those clips. Didn't get a lot of separation against man to man, was great against zone coverage. He definitely beat up on the bad teams like New Mexico.

I prefer the speedy guy like Chase, Jefferson, and McLaurin. They translate more successfully to the NFL. I think McMillan will be fun to watch.

Every highlight tape of his shows him open by a mile against unranked teams. I'm no college scout, I hardly watch it myself, but I don't have too good of a feeling about him

Trade the 2nd pick to the Raiders, take their 1st rounder and Crosby, draft your tackle whichever one is available. Build up both lines, target a WR in free agency or via trade if need be.

Unless you are talking about their first rounder next year this would mean all they are getting is Max Crosby for the 2nd pick in the Draft, that’s highway robbery, and the Patriots are the ones getting robbed.

I agree with you, but at 6 Jeanty would be awfully tempting if still on the board.

If they have to make the pick at 2 I would take Hunter or Graham. If they are picking around 6 I would go with Graham, if he’s still available, or Campbell. If they go with Graham or Hunter I would then trade up for Simmons or Ersery. If they go Campbell with their first picking would then trade up to get Luther Burden.

Drafts should always be a combo of best player available and need. But for this team, it means almost every position except QB and #1 CB.

And the fact that this team has holes everywhere. They may be better off acquiring more high draft picks rather than putting all their eggs in one basket. If they trade down from the #2 spot, they will likely still be picking in the top 10 and as high as 4 or 5 while picking up high draft pick(s) as high as another first. That is the best way to fill out the team with impact talent.

I think Tet will be successful as his size and ability in the red zone will be a huge asset.
His separation numbers were bad in 2023, haven’t found that data yet for 2024 but that’s my #1 metric related to success at next level. He has YAC which is an important metric.
Release and route running need work.
You can’t teach his size. He uses it very well against college DB’s but playing vs Hunter he mostly got shut down outside a couple plays where he used his size.
I don’t see future #1 wr but I see a successful pro. if his 40 time ends up better than the 4.50 range and his 2024 separation data is improved I might change my mind

Travis Hunter is not a quarterback. If someone offers NE 3 first rounders for the pick, they should trade him. Otherwise keep him.

We are talking moving down in the top 10 picks. The top 10 picks in any draft are all about as likely to become impact players unless you draft a reach. We are talking dropping from #2 to like 7 or 8 not dropping from #2 to 30.

Drafting a CB who can play some WR at #2 when you already have a CB who is emerging as an All Pro and you have holes up and down your roster is dumber than trading down three spots and only picking up another first or even a high second. At that spot you could still get someone like Carter or Tet who are likely to be impact players and potential All Pros. And you could still get a solid starter with the second round pick.

You are not going to be an All Pro CB if you are covering lesser WRs while Gonzalez covers the #1s. I cannot remember the last time a #2 CB even made the Pro Bowl.

If they are taking a pass rusher at #2. I agree.

If Hunter is going to be a WR who will play CB part time, then draft him.

If Hunter is a CB who plays WR. Then draft someone else or trade the pick. Either that, trade Gonzalez. You don't draft a #2 CB at the #2 spot.

But if the Pats have the #2 pick. Someone will give up a lot to trade up to draft either Ward or Sanders. They will give up a lot. Odds are the Pats would only have to trade down like two or three spots. And because there will be two QBs and Hunter at the top of the board, they will have opportunities to grab blue chip players like Carter, Tet, Graham, or Williams (all more pressing needs).

Because of the premium on QBs, they push a lot of the best players in the draft down the draft order. Odds are good that Sanders and Ward go with the top two picks. Based solely on talent and potential, neither are really top 10 picks. So the best players are already dropped down two spots. And then you have the potential of people taking the tackles early because there are only two that are really first rounders and teams at the top want to grab them before they are gone.

I disagree with your assessment on the whole from the jump. Id take a first round pick to drop back 3 slots no questions asked.

There isn't anyone at 2 that is any more a sure thing than dropping back to 5 or 6 where all of a sudden we've "wasted" our pick.

You said earlier that you take the best player, period. You don't trade out and hope to get one from a weaker draft position.

And yet you totally disregard this belief with the attachment of a couple extra first.

Well how does that work? Why does 3 first round picks potentially outside the top 10 outweigh the best possible player at 2? If your scenario is true, the player who's a sure thing outweighs any potential to grab a good player later so why does a couple extra first sway the trade?
