If patriots lose out, Travis Hunter could be theirs

And if they can't block they'll still suck.

They need an offensive line, weapons be damned.
This. The offense has been bad for 6 years and people want to waste the higher pick where we can get any non QB position in literal decades on secondary

Ya count me in for a trade down where they still take Campbell at LT and then pick up the RT with the high second rounder they get in the deal.

I still am not sure if the tackle will mount to anything. Give me McMillan or Hunter or will Johnson or Graham. No trade down . We need blue chippers. We have maye, gonzo and barmore for now.

Giants are not winning another game and will pick qb

Raiders not winning another game and will pick qb

Pats at 3 will have Hunter available
Hunter isn't a #1 wide receiver and cornerback isn't a priority in the first round. I'd rather take a tackle or the receiver from Arizona.

We all know we our biggest concern is the Oline.

With that said can we wait until the draft and should we count on the rookie?

I think in a perfect world we fix our line in free agency and then take an edge rusher in the top ten and maybe add an extra draft pick.

I'm not going to complain about Hunter or McMillan though.

PS the smart thing is probably to fix the OL in free agency and still go LT in the draft.

Not sure on Hunter. If he’s not a legit #1 WR do we really wanna go CB that high? He may have been 2 way player in college, but in the NFL he will have a full time role on 1 side of the ball and maybe a package or 2 on the other side.

I think we have to come out of free agency and the draft with talent at WR 1/ LT/ RT. If we can trade down from 3 to still having a top 10 pick and additional picks this year/next year that may be the way to go.

A lot of talk about fixing the line in free agency, I think that's easier said than done. There aren't generally a lot of quality linemen floating around to be had and most teams always have some sort of need on the line so everyone is on the hunt. The guys that are on the trade block are usually at the end of their career or trying to comeback after a bad injury. I think its easier to find wide receivers in free agency rather then linemen particularly LT. I think I'm in the category of taking a linemen as our first pick in the draft, not necessarily the current #3 pick but that should be our top priority position wise. Protect the franchise!

Nah....trade down for more picks.....and take tackles...plural...and a CB in the first three rounds.

We will likely get Higgins in FA....that will fix our WR#1 problem...

That 3rd from the 6-7 Falcons for Judon is looking pretty great right now....likely to be the #48-#52 pick in the draft...thus giving us 4 picks in the top 50...possibly more if we trade down from #3.

You mean the same OL you were telling me was playing at an elite level after week 3 last year. That OL?

Huh. I wonder what changed?

Atlanta is 3rd rounder so should be in mid to late 70s .

I'm ok with the BPA, as long as they take care of WR and OT in free agency. If not, then they desperately need to beef up the line and waiting to round 2 is probably not going to work.

We need a generational tackle
Unfortunately, none are available in free agency, Trade or this draft. We don't need it though, Maye makes the line better, you just need to upgrade the line to NFL average overall and that will be enough.

What we need are playmakers.

You take BPA picking that high up. A top 5 pick you hope turns into a HOF player. I would prefer a HOF caliber player at a position of lesser need then needing to take a player you hope turns into a solid starter.

The oline can be helped in FA, and should so it isn't the absolute must pick position

If Wolf does what all the Al Davis's want, and picks Hunter around #3, I'll boycott the team.

Please tell me this personnel staff has learned something this year - we need an overhaul in the trenches!
A top ranked OL will make average WR's & RB's look great. A top ranked DL wins games.

Don't waste a top draft pick on a WR or CB. Trade it for 2 1st round talents - and get a LT and a DE.

I thought they had a choice of trading for Chicago's third or Atlanta's.

But the BPA is probably still Hunter. The only difference is that he is probably BPA as a corner, not a receiver. However, I think it's probably worth bringing him in and trying it out. Worst-case scenario is he becomes a very good corner opposite Gonzo and a decent part-time WR. Best case scenario is he becomes a WR1. Anything in the middle of those scenarios still pretty great.

I'd still sign Higgins also as a free agent and field Higgins + Hunter. If Hunter doesn't work out as a receiver then you at least have Higgins and you can chase a WR2 in future free agencies/drafts which will be easy to do, or perhaps Polk or Baker become that guy.
