I suspect that 12 positions are truly up for grabs.

Yep, but the Patriots just paid Doubs his money and are about to absorb AJ Brown's massive contract.
Well we know eagles will be responsible for a good amount is why the whole premise is "june" 1st. I want Boutte to remain but I'm starting to feel he's likely involved in the AJ trade.

If he's healthy and can pass a physical, I'd rather they sign Christian Wilkins instead.

He's younger, may have a touch of bipolar... but it's something they can work with.
Wilkins didn't play last season? I've learned that an organization and the coaches that coach them up & have the day-to-day dealings with player's have a lot to do with a players mentality and will to!

Hollins has numerous positives and a few negatives.
at the end of the day, he produced in this offense.

Hollins caught 71% of his 65 targets
28 of those went for 1st downs
2 of those went for TD's
Agreed. Hollins last productive season was 2022. He followed up 2025 with another productive season in his role. The common denominator is Josh! He actually had more of an impact in 2025 as he made huge plays for the offense and is a beast in the running game. I like Hollins and he's also a physical specimen. At 32-33 he still has a few more years left.

He went to the Raiders on a massive contract, then had a dispute with them over whether he should have offseason foot surgery or not. There were also reports of troubling locker room behavior. But if he passes a physical he's more than just a 10-12 snap fatty, he could give them a game changer next to Barmore in the middle.

Yes. I remember that LV released him after the claim from a player in the locker room, ect. But yes I remember the ESPN report on the foot. He had phenomenal season in Miami prior to securing that deal! Good for him. If he's available absolutely Vrabel and Cowden should be on the phone with his agent like yesterday!

I happen to believe Hollins, still in peak physical shape, on a 1 year deal is a good thing.

Yes. He grew on me. He's also a team leader and last I checked was the only one who could make a play on offense in the superbowl. I say 2 year extension with 1 garuanteed, bonuses and gaurenteed $$.

The Eagles may want Boutte in return.

Also not for nothing, but Boutte was a starter last season, he is entering this season without a contract for next year.

Do you think Boutte is going to want to give up snaps to Brown in a contract year?

He might ask for a trade, get disgruntled or make a stink.
Why would the Eagles want Boutte in return? Why would Boutte want to go to the Eagles where he'd have the same issue of snaps going to other players?

The Eagles current WR room without AJ Brown
DeVonta Smith
Dontatvion Wicks
Makai Lemon - 1st round draft pick 2026
Marquise Brown
Darius Cooper - Was a rookie in 2025. 4th/5th type with STs.
Elijah Moore

Johnny Wilson - Missed all of 2025 on IR
Quez Watkins - Depth Receiver
Danny Gray - Practice Squadder
Britain Covey - 5th/6th WR- ST focus

Boutte would be better off being traded to a team like the Saints where they have Olave and not much else at the WR spot or the Cardinals with MHJ or the Commanders who only have McLaurin.

Boutte wanted to be traded to a team that would give him more reps this year.

I agree that PHI and NE are not those teams. I suspect that there are several.

I think you meant to say that you're assuming the Pats are absorbing Brown's contract in your hypothetical.

Where did you see that Boutte wanted to be traded?

While about 50% of first-rounders get a second deal, this rate drops to around 30-40% for players drafted in rounds 2-4.
Just ran across this 7 Sep 2020 article from Over the Cap with the %s of players still on their roster.
Some hard data for the folks who just want to throw guesstimates around.

From the
2020 draft: 23% of 5th Round picks had ALREADY BEEN CUT before the 2020 Season even STARTED.
( I suspect that these 23% mostly made it to the PS. And further that some of prior posters are counting PS as being on a roster. PS and 53-man roster are different things though. Folks should be clear what they mean (PS vs 53) to avoid "violent agreement" by 2 folks saying exactly the same thing in different ways and then arguing about it. )

2019 draft: 34% of 5th Rounders were gone before their 2d Season started. (cut, traded, ?? died)
2018-17 drafts keep going down. but most are gone from drafting team by time first 4 years are done. Unknown how many were still somewhere in the league.

Where did you see that Boutte wanted to be traded?
I'm not going to dig it up, but it has been discussed by many. But, no, there notarized proof.

BTW, I would be fine with Boutte playing here in 2026. I certainly prefer him over Douglas, Chism and the rest of the contenders for the PS.

Yes. Because the Eagles have so much room for Boutte when they gave up draft capital for Dontayvion Wicks and dropped a 1st round pick of Makai Lemon while still having DeVonta Smith.

Yeah. So it's nothing but hearsay garbage that hasn't been substantiated by anyone. And you just regurgitate it like a good little lemming.

That’s ^ a lot of bodies but not a lot of actual production.

We were speaking hypothetically, but you must also think Diana Russini had an unreliable source.

yeah I agree
Boutte wants to get paid and needs to put up numbers. he could here, with out Brown.
with Brown, I assume Boutte wants to go elsewhere.
I prefer keeping him, and passing on Brown.
Boutte has worked hard to be in the position he is in. great hands/catch radius. good in the red zone. I feel he would be great with Doubs.

I also agree, I am not sure he fits with Philly, and Philly fits with him

Boutte could battle it out with Hollywood Brown on the outside while Lemon could play the slot as he primarily did at USC. With that said, I'd rather keep Boutte as injuries occur and/or Brown and Doubs will need a rest. Boutte isn't in a position to be demanding a trade anyways.

There wasn't a lot of production behind Brown and Smith. You had Dotson with 18 receptions on 36 targets for 262 yards.

The Eagles had 1010 Offensive Snaps.
That resulted in 2622 Offensive WR snaps.
Brown had 843 snaps
Smith had 888.
Dotson had 599.

Wicks had only 408 snaps with the Packers, but missed 4 games. I figure they have him penned in to take Dotson's snaps and possibly some of AJ's. How many snaps Lemon get's will be interesting. Same with Marquise Brown if he makes the team..
