I have to admit that while I don't live for football like I used to, I have noticed this season seems to be going by in a blink. I can't believe we're already down to what, just four games left in the regular season? No it's five now that I think about it.

Funny thing is when I was in collij it was just the opposite - the fall semesters seemed to drag on, while the spring semsesters flew by, even though the spring ones were actually longer due to bad planning.

I am glad that the owners are talking about an 18 game season and reducing to only two useless exhibition games. It seems the Union has tentatively agreed, provided the roster is expanded by 4 players from 53 to 57. And possibly adding some more Practice Squad spots.

I assume there will also be a no-cost removal of the stupid 47 man active list, nonsense. If you are on the 57 man team, you should be able to play, rather than forcing an hurt player try to tough it out, and risk further injury. The only thing I have not seen discussed, is a reform of the IR rules.

To discourage player hoarding, by the good teams, I think the IR should be for a minimum of 8 games, or the end of the regular season, rather than the whole season. Also the Playoffs should be considered a "next year" as it is for 20 of the 32 teams teams, waiting for "next year".

That way Stars could come back if healthy, and the best players could play in the Playoffs, and Super bowl, if healthy.

I would even like an opportunity for a cameo appearance by a long time Star, who might never get to "appear" in a Super Bowl, otherwise.

It really does. The offseason is such an anoying period of endless "discussions" about the same area of the team for the next 6 months. I hate the offseason, the draft helps a bit but is it really THAT fun? Outside of the Pats pick, I'm not on the edge of my seat exactly. Yeah it's interesting seeing other teams develop, just doesn't do "It" for me that games do.
