Hypothetical: I don't think Vrabel's going anywhere, but if he was ousted, your thoughts on Mike Tomlin?

I work with a Steelers fan and he was done with Tomlin long ago. Not a bad coach, just doesn't move the needle enough.

For me personally, I still think about us beating Pittsburgh in the 2016 AFC Championship. They had defensive players afterwards saying they were surprised that Chris Hogan was the focal point of the offense, and the up tempo we used caught them off guard.

Being surprised by the Brady era Pats running up tempo is unforgivable from a coaching aspect, and anyone who watched even a small amount of film on the Pats from that season and before would know the focal point of the offense in the next game could literally be anyone with a jersey number that makes them an eligible receiver.

So no thank you on Tomlin.

I would have to politely decline. I've never been a fan of his, albeit I also can't argue his record year after year, despite having some rough rosters. I will give him credit, because that part is certainly undeniable.

And I'd agree on McDaniels for the continuity with Drake Maye and hope that he's learned from two rough stints. I just don't know if he'd be able to surround himself with the same quality people ... the rest of this staff is really, really good.

Agree with MacDaniels. If Vrabel is fired I will almost certainly stop watching them. If he resigns and Tomlin takes over I'll stop watching them. If he resigns and MacDaniels takes over I'll keep watching them.

We go into the season with Coach Vrabel or Coach McDaniels. And the chances of Coach McDaniels are getting lesser by the day - right around the draft I put it at like 15%. Josh as coach means the most stability - from an X's and O's standpoint the offense would be barely impacted relative to bringing in Tomlin.

The story is running out of steam and the people keeping it alive are flailing trying to find stuff to keep it alive. They took a boat ride together during the 6 years we knew they were having an affair? oh wow, such a development! We already knew they're both scumbags.

Short of a paternity test shocker this story has already passed the point where there was the most pressure on Vrabel to step down.

PS - The only difference between Tomlin and Dave Wannstedt's respective careers is one of them coached for the most patient ownership in the NFL.

The ironic thing about the Tomlin talk is that Tomlin himself has been the subject of probably worse rumors over the past year. the claims against Tomlin haven’t been substantiated but locally many say its legit

I think McD would do fine here, in New England... Ownership knows him, and more importantly, would fully support him... hes worked in in Denver and LV and had the rug pulled out from under him when things started to get rocky... wouldn't happen here... with that support i dont think the surrounding cast would disappear overnight...
I think Josh would have a solid staff working on the defense, too. And after a year, he's probably comfortable with a lot of the guys Vrabes gave him on offense. I think it'd be a good situation and better than bringing Tomlin in.

Though, now that I say that, Tomlin is a CEO coach. He'd let the offense and defense do their thing and mainly work on motivating the team. I could see it working if the other coaches would stay.

I have some deep thoughts about Tomlin becoming hc of the nep:

Sean McDermott.

I'm sure Bills fans would absolutely love that. Lol
THIS would be super funny, and I am starting to wonder if he may have been held back by a poor front office/ownership. He was certainly not incredible, but you could do far worse. I'd take him before Tomlin or even some other current NFL HCs.

He absolutely was held back by poor ownership and the front office. McDermott handpicked Beane, but Beane has done a really poor job drafting and their big FA prize was a cooked Von Miller and later Joey Bosa. And the rumor was there was some disagreements between McDermott and Beane with regards to the lack of talent on the team. Then Beane got close with ownership and allegedly threw McDermott under the bus.

I've been saying for years the Bills roster has been mediocre to bad and has been giving false hope to ownership, media and fans getting as far as they've had. With the emergence of the Pats, the Bills will now be fighting for the division and most likely playing more road playoff games until they actually improve the roster. Pats are the class of the AFCE for the time being.

Hypothetical question: I don't think Vrabel's job is in jeopardy, but if he was ousted, what do you think of Mike Tomlin? If offered, I don't see how Tomlin could turn it down. A playoff team with a young QB, etc.
No and No.

They literally just ran the same plays they ran in the past, except with Hogan running GRONK's routes.

Only reason Vrabel could get fired is if it becomes too big a distraction.

Long time before the season starts. Plenty of time for the media to move on to another chew toy. Vrabel will be fine.

That said, if Vrabel were to leave, hiring Tomlinson would be one way to make it even worse.

It would be Josh McDaniels

It would be Josh McDaniels
I think they love what Vrabel has done to the building and the last thing they'd do is bring an outsider to run things.

McDaniels would be next man up.

The media is doing their best to find the smoking gun on this situation. So far, they just found another rendezvous. If it's somehow revealed Vrabel was having an affair and they had a son together, Bob will have no choice.

You're right, of course. So far one can only speculate. But DNA testing is fast, accurate, and cheap. The truth can easily be found out.

And it may even be leaked.

The birth certificate, a legal document, is not only false in too many instances on the paternity of the father, but the continued use of hearsay in this legal document is testimony to the power of women in wanting to avoid personal responsibility.

They can get a beta provider to work to support and love a child whose origins she is intentionally duplicitous about.

With paternity testing available, the birth certificate is now a joke.

The adulterous woman's child, also named Mike, may indeed by Vrabel's. I think it's probably his. If so, that will end his career as HC of the NEP.
