This is just a hypothetic question, and nothing has been found, nor do I think will... But if there is something out there, how would you feel as fans, because if something happens, I do think Belichick is going to get suspended.. It would be a black mark, and make sunday's loss very limited on how we feel that day... Not that I dont think anybody does it, lets face it we are the Yankee's of football everybody hates us...

I think it would suck. I still feel this is very widespread and I hate that he is the sacrifical lamb. I'd be crushed.

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

I'll be honest. The pattern thus far has been: They go after BB. They find something. They trump up the importance of what they found. The fan ends up defending BB/the Pats, perhaps more on the scale of the infraction and the reaction than anything.

I was all for saying: There was a rule. We broke it. Therefore, sure, we cheated. It is a valid hypothesis that everybody cheats, but a proven one that we did.

Since then, we are the one team that can NOT cheat (witness the open busting of the Jets, and the league acceptance that since the Pats had not brought it forward, it was not cheating.)

Now we're down to stuff that looks like "me too" charges. I have already heard from 2 guys on ESPN how that's CRUCIAL, boy if they taped that WALKTHROUGH, why, in this day and age with scripted plays... blah blah blah...

Then the next day they interviewed some ex-ram who said those scripted red zone plays worked pretty well for the Rams... etc.

What can I say, I've become a homer on this issue. It's not like BB Right or Wrong, it's like christ, guys, get a life. It's evident that you just don't like this guy. I get it.

But it looks more and more that you can roll up every sin BB is accused of and say, he stands accused of being a football coach. He's not the only one doing this stuff, and his team didn't dominate the beginning of this decade because of this stuff. From the 18 wins prior to Sunday's loss, it seems like he puts together a pretty good team even when his every move is under a microscope.

End of story, to me. But this will go on all offseason. I don't think the readership will be as wide, but some a s s clown will think getting the Pats to lose 2 rings in 1 year would be the coolest thing since the 40s when his team was good. So there you go.

And NO, Donovan, you can't have your ring. You have to win to get one.

The critical question is not how we feel. The critical question is how Bob Kraft feels.
Always remember this very important element - the Patriots put out a strong denial about taping the Rams walk through.
If there is a tape then how should Bob Kraft feel about the repesentations made to him by BB that brought about that strong denial??
It's not about the taping, it's about representations BB made to the NFL (was asked about these rumors by Goodell months ago) and to Bob Kraft in which he denied it.

I DONT CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After everything this season I just dont care anymore! Even if you asked me, "How would you feel if Bill Belichick killed his first born?" You wanna how I would answer it?? I DONT CARE!!!!!!!!! The Pats would be nothing without him! Sell your souls pats fans, nothing could make him expendable

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

If he "taped Super Bowl 36"?????

Who would have a problem with THAT?

Now, if he taped the walk through, that's a different story.

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

From what I hear if the tape turns out to exist and it is of the Rams Superbowl walkthrough....

BB min 1 year suspension max NFL Ban

Kraft 3 year suspension from dealing with NFL operations

Stripped of the title for that one year... rings / trophy *poof*

No reports on any further fine or draft penalties

Good luck guys. This makes what has transpired in Washington these past weeks look like a dream vacation.

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

It's "Hypothetical" and I don't care...

What does it matter? I'm sure that BB's gameplan was to suck in the second half and win the game with a last minute 40+ yard field goal.

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

why would I care?

I d/l'd this year's superbowl.

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

Like he did nothing that wasn't done before.

And if such harsh penalties are indeed levied, I'm done with the NFL, perhaps for life. So I save some money. Yay me.

whoever made that up is full of crap. what will happen will be that this is found to be the tip of the iceberg and is a league wide thing. hell, the rams were spying on the pats practices before that superbowl.

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

assuming you mean "approved the taping of the Rams' final walkthrough before SB XXXVI":

One, I don't believe it happened until someone brings clear proof, i.e., a tape that could not reasonably have been taken by a member of the Rams' staff but had to be taken by an unauthorized party (e.g., a copy of a tape that could have been taken from the rams sideline or from the Rams' booth that now mysteriously materializes is not proof; a tape that was taken from the stands or a ramp or a concourse is proof. it should be easy to tell them apart, since an illicit tape would likely be from a strange angle and might show signs of the attempt to conceal the camera.). The word of a disgruntled, former employee is not "clear proof."

Two, if this happened, then it is very serious and would bother me a lot as a supporter of the Pats, especially since they have denied it "flatly." However, for now, see "One" above.

You're taking a lot of delight in this potentiality and I guess I can understand why. But, there is no proof that this occured, beyond the possible claim of a disgruntled, former employee.

As for the Penalties you suggest, they touch on areas that one would expect for such an offense, but I doubt very much that the Patriots would be the only team to experience them. I also doubt doubt that anyone in the NFL office has actually articulated them at this time.

First of all, ALL games are taped. Yes. You heard that correctly ALL GAMES ARE TAPED. And every team tapes them.

Secondly, the rule the Patriots broke was having a camera on the sidelines. Which is not in an NFL specified area.

Third, the Patriots are NOT the Yankees of football. They don't spend money hand over fist to try and buy a championship. And no, everyone doesn't hate the Patriots.

Why even ask a hypothetical that you know isn't true?

reports in the media this morning (including Michael Holley) are that there is nothing to this story.

Yeah, just saw that right now....

Btw- on your post above I agree with everything you said.

I guess we will all see where this Congressional Inquiry goes.....

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

Then good we could put this to bed...

No it isn't. I am willing to bet there are dozens of tapes taken from the stands of NE final walk thru for each of their SBs.

I don't know if the Rams allowed family members at the practice or not. If family members were not allowed then yes, otherwise it is not proof.

Re: "HYPOTHETIC QUESTION" How would you feel if Belichick aproved taping of Super Bow

Here's why I don't think it's a big deal.
The 2007 Patriots didn't even have a final walkthrough. If a walkthrough is that important, why would the most well-coached team skip it?
