How much does the Flying Elvis logo suck that Brady wears Pat Patriot beanies to his pressers?

Absolutely. Close that old thread about our uniforms. In fact, I'll never bring it up again just as soon as I see the following press release: 27 JULY 2016 - FOXBOROUGH, MA-The New England Patriots open training camp tomorrow, and fans will be pleasantly surprised by seeing their team open the 2016 campaign sporting their old favorite, "Pat" Patriot logo on their helmets as they prepare for the first preseason game. In the announcement that players will now wear the previous "throwback" uniforms last seen in 2012 permanently, team owner Robert Kraft said, "I believe our fans deserve the best, and we acknowledge the support they've given us through the years and will always appreciate and respect that." The team will wear red jerseys at home, and white jerseys on the road, along with white pants and helmets.

Patriots fans want to be able to turn on the TV and say "Why, I know them...That's the New England Patriots; I've rooted for them since the sixties, I'm proud they represent us!!" Instead of today, when they say, "Who the hell is that? I don't know, some ugly team from Birmingham or Memphis or something...their team, especially the quarterback, are playing great but their logo and uniforms sure are God-awful..."

By all means, don't start a new thread. It makes much more sense to spend time digging up an old one... one that will get closed... again.

Wow, a lotta dislikes applied to completely benign posts. Looks like actual came here with an ax to grind.

I have a vidid memory, before Bledsoe and Parcells came aboard, of the Pat's cheerleaders holding up signs of the old logo and a new logo for the stadium to vote on with their applause. The old logo won. But, even though my memory is foggy, it seems the new logo the cheerleaders were holding up could have been the one adopted when Parcells took over the team.

I'm just curious if anyone else remembers this.

[EDIT] Never-mind, just did some digging and found what I was remembering. Here's a link if you are interested. The Evolution of the Patriots Logo and Uniform

It's just a little ways down the page "1976-80 PAT PREVAILS". It's not the current logo but it does have similarities.

Then you should love the new unis. Every NFL team wears a jersey with a logo.

And they don't spare the expense when they make them. It probably cost them a whole quarter to make each jersey.
the raiders jets steelers packers 49ers colts dont have the logos on the jersey sleeve. they have the number or stripes. to name a few.

The Twain reference is exquisitely appropriate. So, what exactly convinced Orthwein the franchise needed a total image makeover and compelled him to commission the league to ruin our logo and uniforms...**** MacPherson rolling on the ground? Let me tell you about Pats coach Clive Rush, who electrocuted himself at his introductory press conference. One time, down at old Fulton County Stadium, he instructed his kicker to do an onside kick. Only problem, he didn't tell anyone else. So, as the Pats ran down the field in coverage, a huge Falcons lineman scooped up the ball and rumbled the other way for an Atlanta touchdown. Everybody goes through hard times. Let me point out that there is nothing at all wrong with feeling intimidated and pressured as a reporter, when in a professional locker room surrounded by scantily clad members of the opposite sex. It's normal. However, falsely accusing several innocent young African-American male professional football players of "rape" is not, whether you're Mayella Ewell or Lisa Olson. So, when Mr. Tagliabue (and People magazine) ascribed validity to something noncredible, Orthwein buys it (sound familiar...Rosie O'Donnell?) and our team looks stupid for the next twenty three years. So, what's the real problem? Incidents like this seriously damage protection, support and justice for real female victims of violence. There you have it, Mr. Kraft. There are two months left until training camp opens.

I sense a theme in your posts.

Yeah I wasn't quite sure what the theme was after the "death by flesh eating ants" post but now I'm pretty sure I've got it.

This thread feels like I'm shopping at Wal-mart at 12 am.

How much do my kids suck that I have to be seen in public with my wife?
