Right now, today.. Would you trade JAG and Gronk to Cleveland for BOTH their first round pics?Sure, we are better with him. That's not my point. My point is that we can win without him and that Bill is not going to invest a bunch of money on a player that is not dependable. That's not how Bill operates. Someday you are going to wake up and find out that Gronk got traded to the Chargers or Jaguars, some random irrelevant team. Probably for a bag of balls. You will be surprised. But you shouldn't be.

We were 11-0 in games without Gronk. And 6-2 in games with Gronk.
That is not what I disagreed with if I remember correctly. I think you also stated that we could not have gone to the Super Bowl without HFA, which I totally disagree with. Sure it helps but we have lost with HFA and won without HFA.@mosslost, do you mind proving to me that gronk didn't play a part in helping NE get the 1 seed?
Ah, the Stupid Season is upon us as we enter the desert between SB afterglow and Training Camp
And those 6 wins were instrumental to NE getting the 1 seed. I am grateful for what he did to help brissett and garappollo at the beginning.
Nope. For Gronk I want multiple first or a top 3 pick. I say top 3 cause that can easily be turned into multiple high first. I doubt any team offers it though.
If I trade Gronk I want to be able to draft either Njoku or Howard while having the majority of the value yet to be spent.
If I trade Gronk for #3 I do this.
Trade it for #8 and that teams first next year.
Then Trade the #8 pick for #16 & #48.
Then I trade from #16 for #20 and a 4th this year.
Only then do I pick the one left or the one I want of Njoku and Howard.
I also have #48 and a 4th this year as well as a high pick next year.
Here we go again
Gronk isn't a necessity to win a SB. I'd look at Julius Thomas despite his " issues" as a blocker etc.
We were 11-0 in games without Gronk. And 6-2 in games with Gronk.
If the Patriots offense collapsed over the 2nd half of the 2016 season and it kept them out of the Super Bowl then yes, I'd be concerned about Gronk. But it is clear that the Patriots offense found an identity without Gronk, and it won without Gronk, and it can win without him again.
Of course I worry that the career of the most electrifying player in team history could end prematurely.
