How concerned are you about Gronk?

Another benefit of this SB is that nancy boy Gronk can't hold that over the team. Maybe he'll stop ****ing around, going on cruises and making unfunny commercials.

Sure, we are better with him. That's not my point. My point is that we can win without him and that Bill is not going to invest a bunch of money on a player that is not dependable. That's not how Bill operates. Someday you are going to wake up and find out that Gronk got traded to the Chargers or Jaguars, some random irrelevant team. Probably for a bag of balls. You will be surprised. But you shouldn't be.
Right now, today.. Would you trade JAG and Gronk to Cleveland for BOTH their first round pics?

We were 11-0 in games without Gronk. And 6-2 in games with Gronk.

And those 6 wins were instrumental to NE getting the 1 seed. I am grateful for what he did to help brissett and garappollo at the beginning.

@mosslost, do you mind proving to me that gronk didn't play a part in helping NE get the 1 seed?
That is not what I disagreed with if I remember correctly. I think you also stated that we could not have gone to the Super Bowl without HFA, which I totally disagree with. Sure it helps but we have lost with HFA and won without HFA.

However, it is also true the were went 11-0 without Gronk.. 6-2 with Gronk.. Now 6-2 is pretty good, and one of those losses was with a third string QB though.

Gronk never played with Garapoolo.

Nope. For Gronk I want multiple first or a top 3 pick. I say top 3 cause that can easily be turned into multiple high first. I doubt any team offers it though.

If I trade Gronk I want to be able to draft either Njoku or Howard while having the majority of the value yet to be spent.

If I trade Gronk for #3 I do this.

Trade it for #8 and that teams first next year.

Then Trade the #8 pick for #16 & #48.

Then I trade from #16 for #20 and a 4th this year.

Only then do I pick the one left or the one I want of Njoku and Howard.

I also have #48 and a 4th this year as well as a high pick next year.

No GM is going to trade anything of value for Gronk right now, let alone a top ten pick. They need to see him produce first. I don't think people realize how serious an injury this can potentially be.

If the Patriots offense collapsed over the 2nd half of the 2016 season and it kept them out of the Super Bowl then yes, I'd be concerned about Gronk. But it is clear that the Patriots offense found an identity without Gronk, and it won without Gronk, and it can win without him again.

Of course I worry that the career of the most electrifying player in team history could end prematurely.

As always we need Gronk insurance. This season, we got it, in the form of Bennett. By the SB, way different scenario that we'd seen in recent years. Sure, a Gronk would have been nice to have, but you have to handcuff him to somebody less likely to be injured by end of season. I love me some "Gronk Spike" commercials, but fact is, he wasn't in the game. Greatest tight end evah, but you need a handcuff.

I noticed gronk has been barely able to get around. Probably still better than half the tight ends in his future wheelchair and walker.

Very worried about Gronk. One more back injury and his career might be done

Gronk isn't a necessity to win a SB. I'd look at Julius Thomas despite his " issues" as a blocker etc.

I wonder if he is increasing his public visibility because he knows his career is in jeopardy?

Julius is a softy, he wouldn't fit in this system, hell I'd take Walker from the Titans to be a backup to Gronk because the guy can block and make plays too, may not be an upgrade to Bennett due to age but definitely better than most tight ends atm for a reasonable price.

So whats your point? Because if its we are better off without Gronk then you are seriously delusional. Your also adding a loss to Gronk when Jacoby played against the Bills when they got shut out 16-0? Thats a bit unfair. Gronk was huge in the Seattle game making huge plays even though he got his spine shanked and a punctured lung. Gronk got us down to the 5 yard line... then the Pats messed the game up with poor play calling. Thats not on Gronk.

yeah the Pats had a very easy schedule this year. Historically easy. They even got a super easy playoff game vs the Texans. New Englands offense is so much better when Gronk is in the line up.

Gronk is HOF tight end already.. the guy is one of the most devastating NFL offensive players ever.
