The latest version of Field Turf, which the Pats have, is pretty good stuff, though. In some ways it's been said to be superior to grass in helping to prevent injury.

Those rubber pellets get everywhere and may be carcinogenic. Grass is best if you can get it established for a year of two before it gets tore up. With MLS and NFL using the field in Gillette, I don't think they had much of a choice with this.
