mod edit: thread title changed to avoid 'brown' ambiguity

Health Of Brown and Wendell

Are either Brown or Wendell healthy?

I'd like them as part of our camp competition, and would expect both to be part of our final 60 players if they are signed.

As of now there are 3 Browns in the roster, until training camp BB probably signs another one.

I think you are talking about the cornerback, seems to be a case of a chronic foot injury, those are tough and we've seen some examples recently in Dobson and Lafell, god forbid Edelman to go through the same.

Wendell had one good year playing RG, he was awful at center before and overall serviceable, then last year that misterious illness, not a surprise if he doesn't make the roster this year, actually I don't even know if he's under contract.

Neither CB Brown or OG Wendell is under contract. If healthy, either or both should be able to compete for a roster spot. Wendell was indeed serviceable as a starting OG on a SB team a couple of years ago. It would seem that he would be able to battle guys like Kline, Cooper and Andrews (and Stork, Mason and Jackson for that matter). It is not as if we couldn't use more competition for the interior OL roster spots.

Troy Brown looks ok to me.

Vincent Brown is a DC for UConn. Seems he is doing just fine.

Foxy Brown is fine!

How is anyone on this forum supposed to know the answer to that question?

Actually, I'm not sure that Tarrell Brown is under contract, either. I believe he's a FA.

I don't know. Maybe one of them is in a walking boot. Maybe one was surfing last week. There is lots of information around. And, of course, we cannot KNOW much of anything.

Wendell with a year off would be an upgrade over Kline, If he is healthy, I don't see why we wouldn't bring him in to compete.

Yeah, Brown was only available to us in the first place because of his chronic foot injuries. I think it would be foolish for any team to plan on getting more than a couple games out of him.

I think Wendell is good enough that if he's healthy he should be able to come back and make the roster if he's so inclined. I don't think anyone will mind if he bumps Kline off the 53.

I wouldn't expect either to be signed.

Cooper
Stork
Mason
Jackson
Kline
Andrews

Which player are you cutting to make room for Wendell?

Brown is a 32 year old CB with a major issue with his foot.

IMHO, your error is in thinking that the current roster players don't need competition, and couldn't be beaten out by Brown or Wendell. In addition, once (every couple of seasons or so), there are injuries to players who we thought would make the roster.

So, for me, both of these players (if healthy) provide competition and an alternative in case of injuries.

That's also what the shadow roster is for

There is no such thing as a shadow roster. If Wendell or Brown are healthy by camp, they will be playing somewhere.

I would not say there's no such thing.
