Health Of Tarell Brown and Ryan Wendell

IMHO, your error is in thinking that the current roster players don't need competition, and couldn't be beaten out by Brown or Wendell. In addition, once (every couple of seasons or so), there are injuries to players who we thought would make the roster.

So, for me, both of these players (if healthy) provide competition and an alternative in case of injuries.
I would not want to keep Wendell over any of the young players because even if could beat out a player like Andrews in this year’s camp. Wendell is on the downside of his career, he is only going to get worse as time passes, Andrews has a ton of unreached potential left before he gets to his ceiling. Same thing with Brown, even if he was better than Roberts in camp I would still keep Roberts.

Yup. You always prefer kids, no matter what their skill level. If one looks at the many one-year players that Belichick has signed, I suspect that Belichick wants to have the best chance of winning this season. His priority is not to have little experience on the interior of the OL.

Tell me 1 veteran that signed a 1 year deal that has lasted a full season with the Patriots in recent years?

We have had this debate about players from Will Smith, James Anderson, Robert McClain and many others, I am not the only one who favors youth Belichick does too. The average age of the roster was 27 years old in 2016.

Tarrell is off the boot for whatever thats worth.

Ok. fair enough. We'll see how many of the 1-year contract players make the 53, and how many belichick chose to waste millions on (at least according to you).

I wouldn't expect either to be signed.

Cooper
Stork
Mason
Jackson
Kline
Andrews

Which player are you cutting to make room for Wendell?

Brown is a 32 year old CB with a major issue with his foot.

Kline, in a heart beat

I'm surprised Wendell hasn't announced his retirement yet.

He's relatively young. I don't think that he has a concussion history. I would think that he would try to continue working. If no one is willing to hire him, that is another story.

Wendell had one concussion incident. Missed no time. I preferred him at guard, where he performed more than adequately.Center is another story. He's 29. Looking at the Pats roster I don't see where he plays at guard over the rest of current guards even as a backup. Can't count out his experience and flexibility however.

I know bb signed biggers, but should we take a flyer on brown, if the medicals check out?
