Only the cult of Tebow would consider asking the question of whether or not he has EARNED a roster spot a "gotcha" question. For you folks he doesn't need to actually earn it, he should be handed it becaquse he is Tim Tebow.

You seem a little slow on the uptake, so I'll try to break it down for you a bit.

Using a vague/undefined word (earned) makes it so that no matter which way a person answers it, they're "wrong". Saying "earned" in the context you've given implies that the only way he could "earn" it is through his play in the preseason games or practices. (well... practices don't count any more, since you were thoroughly spanked on that front)

Examples:

Question: Has Tebow earned a roster spot on the Patriots?

Answer#1: Well... Tebow played pretty badly during the limited time we saw him, so probably not, but he may have other purposes/skills to use, or he could be project. It's not really that simple...

Retort: SEE!!! YOU DELUSIONAL TEBOW NUTS THINK HE SHOULD BE ON THE TEAM EVEN THOUGH HE DID NOTHING TO EARN IT!!!

Answer#2: He's earned it by being a talented football player who brings a pretty unique set of skills to the table. If BB and McD think they can use him, now, or in the future, then yeah, he's earned a spot.

Retort: SEE!!! YOU DELUSIONAL TEBOW NUTS THINK HE SHOULD BE ON THE TEAM EVEN THOUGH HE DID NOTHING TO EARN IT!!!

It's a question that's almost impossible to answer without a lengthy explanation, but even if the answer is explained, you will resort to the "gotcha" every time.

At first, I thought you were doing this intentionally, since it's so obvious, but after reading your other posts in this thread... I fear that you may not be very clever...

This lesson was free, courtesy of the free time I have away from work today. You're welcome

It was a joke, something you don't understand, but i doubt manx has any problem with it.

As for being "owned" the vast majority agree with me, not you or any of the other tebowites, and not one of those who support tebow has been able to articulate what he has done to earn a spot on the team, whereas people like you simply think he deserves it because he's a good christian.
Let me know if you ever come up with the reasons tebow has earned it, until then i will ignore the rest of your blather.

Thanks for telling us what our opinions are. Again... and again... and again...

Maybe some day you'll actually be able to communicate with real people, and they can tell you what their actual opinions are.

Until then, carry on arguing against the imaginary "Tebowite" characters you've created in your own mind.

Edit: How many triple posts can you possible cram into one thread? I'm guessing you're about to follow up with the fabled "Quadruple Post" and moment now...

No it doesn't, if I-Dowling makes the team he can actually play his position, Tebow can't. If I-Dowling goes out on the field he will contribute, if Tebow goes out on the field he will kill any chance they have of winning that game. That said I-Dowling is in the same category as tebow in one regard, he really hasn't earned a spot on this roster, but given a choice between the two it is an easy decision.

It complicates in the "Tebow Loving World"... BB will do what is best for the team.. and if it does come down to Dowling and Tebow, I would think the former would prevail....

Same here.

Classic mistake on your part, so here is some advice for you:

If it was a joke, then my apologies.

As for "the vast majority" agreeing with you, it depends on what you are talking about. If you are referencing the notion that Tebow hasn't shown enough in preseason games to warrant being on the squad, hell, I and most of the other Tebowites agree with you.

This is the point that you continue to miss either due to stubbornness and flat out inability to comprehend what has been said

You continue to tilt at windmills Don Quixote.

Another intellectually stimulating response from you.

You're really on a roll this morning, aren't you...?

It's alright if you couldn't make it through my post. I'm sure that anything requiring more than a 2nd grade reading level can be very difficult for some folks.

At least you'll always have your imaginary Tebowite dollies to argue/play with. They'll never judge you on any sort of intellectual level.

Not missing the point at all, the Tebow supporters want him on the team despite knowing full well that he has not performed well enough to win a job, and absent any argument supporting him winning a job it means that they want him on the team because he is Tim Tebow, they are just unwilling to come right out and say that because they know that it is a really stupid position to take. 95% of the Tebow supporters are NOT Patriot fans and clearly do not have their interests in mind, only Tebow's, and that is what myself and many Patriot fans have a real issue with. i was actually quite polite to the Tebow supporters until it became very clear that all they really cared about was tebow being on this team despite playing like garbage, at which point it was time to call bullsh.t.

Dear God please make it stop.

Actually it was really appropriate and you should heed Downey's advice. The tebowites are in full ****** mode.

ok........................

You're fine. I've just never seen so many people arguing about something so unimportant.

I do admire your passion, though

I'll try to make this is clear as I can, even on a third grade level, so there can be no misunderstanding.

1. YES, Ivan, I WANT Tebow to make this team.
2. YES, Ivan, you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT that Tebow's performance in the 2 preseason games hasn't been good enough to warrant/earn a roster spot.
3. YES, Ivan, IF roster spots were solely determined based off of what guys did in preseason games, THEN Tebow should be cut.

Now for something on a more advanced 5th grade level, but I hope you'll be able to keep up anyways.

Ivan, I WANT Tebow to make the Pats roster but at the very same time, I can readily say that he hasn't done enough in the preseason games to warrant/earn that roster spot, if that was the only thing he was being evaluated on.

Now, if you are really clever, you might notice that the statement immediately above is a compound statement joining the three statements from the list.

Are you able to understand that Ivan ? Or do I need to break it down even more for you ?

I'm not, being irish is a great thing.

Do i need to apologize to you for making brit jokes, apparently some here think i do?

No, just rend some cloth for using dated material.

Thanks jack, if someone could say something really nasty about Welker it would be greatly appreciated....................

Welker was largely a product of Brady and the Pat's system and his numbers will be lower in Denver.

Don't really agree with the first point and unless there's a Welker injury I don't see any reason to think the latter will come to fruition either...

Simple question.
Tough answer.
Based on what the average fan can see from his play on the field and in the practices to which fans are admitted? No.
Based on how BB assesses what he might be able to do for the team? Only BB knows and, "In BB I trust."

I'm so sorry.

My great grandfather was a founder and President of the GAA, the Gaelic Athletic Association, which is one of the greatest institutions in Ireland and a major reason irish culture survived the occupation and continues to this day. i'm obviously pretty proud of that even though i had nothing to do with it.
