Hardly anybody in the media is talking about the Dolphins

They are flying under the radar as of now, even after their win yesterday (after losing their starting QB) everybody seems to be of the belief that the Jets handed the win to the Fins. I for one think that the Fins are a good time right now, everything seems to be clicking for them, Their HC is doing a good job with the talent at hand. Our games against them will go a long way in deciding who wins the AFC East................

There's a good chance that the last game of the season has Miami fighting for a playoff spot and the Pats fighting for a bye. Both games between the Pats and Dolphins are going to be huge.

They are scrappy. They are a division foe and have a decent defense. That easily qualifies them as a troublesome opponent.

I expect them to give the Pats a few fits here and there but eventually lose as they are over-matched.

The media focuses on the gossipy stories that appeal to a much larger audience of more casual fans: e.g., the tsk, tsk finger pointing of the Saints' latest bounty story, and the never ending saga of the backup quarterback for the Jets.

By the time they get threw talking about those two topics there's not a whole lot of time/space left to talk about teams like the Dolphins, Bears, Vikings or Seahawks (unless of course they happen to beat a well known contender like the Packers or Patriots).

They did a great job with the Brandon Marshall trade. Guy is an idiot and they had so many holes that needed filling.

Reggie Bush, Richard Marshall, Karlos Dansby etc. Front office has been plugging some holes these last few years.

I found that odd too, the afc teams have a lot of division games in the second half of the season, Cant believe the Steelers and ravens have not played each other yet

They did the right thing with Tannehill, though they took a lot of crap for it at the time. Kid's got all the intangibles and is built for the West Coast offense. Right now they're outgunned, but they could become much more of a threat as soon as next year.

Don't think we'll challenge for the division...too young probably, and need more depth. Maybe get a split with the Patriots. Certainly will be exciting...way too early but maybe the open week 17 game is the game that's flexed into sunday night football if Dolphins don't fade. [ And NBC please spare us, and flex out the Chargers-Jets week 16 game NOW. I watch Walking Dead & Homeland anyway, but still don't want to see that garbage in primetime ]

9-7 or at most 10-6 is realistic. Probably wild card if they manage that. More than anyone could have expected.

Sunday's game is interesting if Tannehill is healthy. Luck vs. Tannehill, current 5 seed Dolphins & 6 seed Colts, which nobody expected. one would get knocked back. Back to back road games is tough, but Bush got to rest yesterday in the 2nd half with the blowout.

9-7 or at most 10-6 is realistic. Probably wild card if they manage that. More than anyone could have expected.

Of the remaining games 5 seem to be winnable for the Phins. So yes 9-7 seems more like it. The way the AFC is playing this year i think we will see some 9-7 teams in the playoffs

I think their biggest problem i.e the play of the secondary will come back to bite them in the rear many times this season

I think Philbin has done a solid job, particularly because I'm not a fan of Tannehill and I think he's been able to cover him up a bit. I just don't think that the media believes in the Dolphins as a serious team, yet.

The Dolphins are a very good team. They should have beaten Arizona handily, but Cardinals converted on two fourth and forevers to get it to overtime. I would not be surprised to see the Dolphins beat the Colts handily next week, to end up the first half of the season tied in record with the Patriots.

The teams have a very similar schedule coming down the stretch, except we get the Texans instead of the Seahawks. Plus, we also get the 49ers at home and the Dolphins have to play them on the road.

I really wouldn't be that surprised to see the last game of the season be for the division. No matter how bad the Jets suck, they often seem to play the Patriots tough. Patriots need to find a way to win that game and to beat the Dolphins on the road to take control of the division by early December. Drop one of those and it's going to be a dogfight.

Boy this has been a LONG time coming. Pre Parcells and the last few years of the last century (yes it has been that long that we can talk like that), it was the fins they were our main rival. There were many day when Pats fans and Fins fans would compare and contrast their teams. There were great Miami fans like Wauckenbauss and Scipio who I'd debate on the KFFL boards

Now even though the Pats have lost a few games with the Phins over the those years (including an AFCE title in 2008) It seems like a long time since the Dolphins have been relevant and their fan base active.

It looks like the Dolphins are gearing up to fly by the loathsome Jets in the next few years, so I guess we will have to start paying attention again. So far it looks like Joe Philbin has done a nice job after a very unpromising start. Only goes to show how first impressions aren't always true.

They probably don't have the kind of depth they need to challenge for a division title this season, but they certainly have enough talent to beat the Pats on any given day, so they better not take them lightly.

Except for Brady, Welker Lloyd and Mankins, every key offensive player is in their mid 20's or younger. On the defensive side they are even younger with some nice pieces that just aren't adding up quite yet.

So if you are waiting for time to begin to start to erode the Pats. You have around 4 more seasons before you lose Brady, and a lot longer for everyone else. In other words don't hold your breathe. Concentrate you your team getting better, rather than our team getting worse,'cause that's not happening anytime soon

With all due, the other teams in the AFCE are looking at Brady's retirement date - not that of any of the other, younger talent on the team.

Without Brady, the whole dynamic of the Patriots will change. The day he is no longer QB for the Pats will be one where every other team sees a big door open & where winning the division is actually a realistic possiblity.
