Gronkowski Likely Facing Penalty From NFL After Hit On Sunday

With his current contract, he's got good odds of sticking around. But how can you possibly ignore Belichick's history of dumping discipline problems. One or two more gaffes like this from Gronk, he's gone. I suspect you're more interested in stroking Gronk's ego than worrying about what's good for the Patriots.
You're out of your mind.

seems besides a horde of lawyers on our board, we have a certain amount of clergy too. The moral equivocating going on is papal.
We've won five championships playing legitimate football. We don't need to equivocate like the Ravens or Steelers. Gronk did wrong and should take his medicine. If he continues this, he'll be gone imo. However, I doubt it will come to that if the league or Belichick nip it in the bud. I just wish we had Bennett to take some of the pressure off the offense when Gronk isn't playing.

it's already viral...tomorrow will be apocalyptic when the media mongoloids get their shots in...

I guess you haven't noticed that Belichick has always valued team culture over individual players. That's part of his recipe for winning. Am I claiming Gronk on the chopping block right now? No way. But if he keeps up the penalties and cheap shots, you must be out of your mind not to see Belichick is willing to deal anyone who doesn't embody the Patriot way. Belichick has never understood Gronk from a personality standpoint, but was willing to put up with those quirks for results. However, even for Belichick the results eventually do not outweight the oddities. Why do you think headcase, if not exciting, Bennett was allowed to go to Green Bay (before finding his way back here under some odd circumstances)?

it was one incident in 7 years....

Quite a leap to project Gronk becoming such a discipline problem after this incident to cause him to be dumped. Kind of a troll statement there

What he did was wrong and when player safety is involved it's kind of a no brainer how this turns out. Feel for the guy and hope he is ok.

However, if during all all of this, some of these media hacks bring up the egregious referees that keep letting these players use Gronkowski as a jungle gym I'd be all for it. Long shot, but it would be nice. We've been watching the greatest TE in football history not reach his full gametime potential because he is being punished for being too big for Dbs and too fast for LBs to cover. Probably one of the greatest mismatches since Shaquille Oneal and the same treatment.

Agree. That one play perfectly embodies what happens when the refs let a game get out of hand. There were a number of head scratching calls that lead up to and exacerbated this.

So penalties and injuring other players isn't the start of a discipline problem? How is this not a distraction now that it is going viral and getting national coverage? Honestly, I'm surprised you guys haven't figured out how the media in this country operates when it comes to the Patriots. They will find a way to make this a major controversy and I'd rather get out in front of it by claiming discipline will come in house if it doesn't come from the league.

You're far, far worse than out of your mind. You're trolling.

How is wanting clean, smart football out of my mind? So you're fine with Gronk trying to injure other guys in the future. Because that's what you're saying if you disagree with my sentiment he'll be gone if this type of behavior continues.

At the very least, you posters who disagree with me could have the courage to state "I am okay with Patriots getting cheap shots on other teams." Because that's what you're saying by not repudiating this type of behavior. I've loved Gronk for years, but this type of thing can snowball and draw a media sh*tstorm that can derail a season. Just wait.

It was a big deal on the internet already. Sad fact, we are number one, the big dog if you will. We are under the microscope. And when you are under the microscope the standard becomes higher.

How am I trolling. I'm a genuine fan who wants to win. And you don't even give your position other than calling me a troll for valuing clean and smart football. Honestly, it's absurd that you guys value injuring other teams over preserving a level of decency.

Gronk channeled his inner Woody Hayes

Bad refs didn't make Gronk get in a dirty hit. He was dumb that play. And he should learn from his mistake rather than have fans play excuse bingo.

I don't think he should be suspended given that was a first for him, but I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he does get suspended. This ****ing league and commissioner will jump on any opportunity to **** the Pats up.

the commissioner will act based on what the public wants.
