I think that if Tampa tampered with Gronk by giving him the playbook first and then Gronk got Brady to sign there with the hopes of forcing the Pats into trading Gronk there as well, then should be hit with tampering charges by the league office.

As for Florio, I doubt his comments regarding the Pats not caring about the tampering have ANY merit. The Patriots have always gone to the league when they've felt another team tampered. Especially when it was the Jets..

Only time tampering really matters is when a team is looking to resign a player and the tampering team impacts those negotiations. Every team tampers but almost always with players already out the door. Pats did not want him back so no biggie to me.

I didn’t know he said that so yeah this just got more interesting and maybe Florio was right to call it out. If Tom only got the playbook a couple weeks ago when he visited Leftwich then doesn’t that mean Gronk had the playbook even before TB did? Then the question is why and how? The scenario you mentioned would be one way that happens for sure.

Or Brady was lying about the real reason he was visiting Leftwich, having a bag of footballs. Which he probably was but that’s a different topic.

Either way I think this is worth a look by the league and the Patriots should speak up about it.

Like I said time and time again last season when the team was down on the scoreboard and they panned over to Brady on the bench and you could clearly see he had no emotion and every time it seemed he just held a bottle of water in his hand with no emotion especially in the big loss to the Dolphins and the playoff loss to the Titans,he just did not care anymore - Brady knew that was going to be his last year and you can bet your bottom dollar he told Gronk to wait a year and then come back and join him on his new team - I think both of them were gone long before each player actually left.

No, it wasn't. While he was retired, GRONK's salary was not on the salary cap. If he had filed for reinstatement, the Patriots would have immediately been several million over the cap, and would have had to either fix it in 24 hours or make him a free agent.
