Gronk and Hogan OUT vs SF; hopefully motivation for D to step up

He seemed to be much more involved with JimmyG, and that was also true for Dobson (at least based on pre season games). I think that's more on Brady to be honest.

To be fair, the jump from a college offense to a real NFL offense is pretty big. Add in, how notoriously difficult it is to grasp the Patriots-flavoured Erhardt-Perkins offense and it's not surprising that rookies start very slow.

Id be bordering on panic. SF sucks. If they lose, Pat's are in trouble.

It depends how we lose.. If SF slows down our offense, maybe holds us to 20 points. And then our defense has another awesome game giving up 470 yards of Offense to a horrible offensive team... and lets say SF scores 23+ and we lose, Alarm bells will be ringing in my head.

However if this game turns into a **** show and we end up turning the ball over 4 times and the team over all looks sloppy I would just chock it up to a bad game.

With Gronk and Hogan out I say we put up 28 points. More Edelman a little Lewis and more Bennet.. and a healthy dose of LG. Should be fine. I would like to see Malcolm Mitchell get involved.

Care to elaborate on a handful examples who those mystery receivers were that went on to big things ? Apart from Branch..

name me the pats WRs since 2000 who barely did anything rookie year who went on to become really good WRs in the NFL?

That's my entire point. Apart from Branch they haven't drafted a single WR that became a really good player. Which makes your claim that numbers in a rookie year are some kind of important indicator completely pointless.

Damn no Gronk again? I would've thought he'd be back for this one. I'm a little more worried about playing without him in this one.

So what if we're holding back Gronk and Hogan? I'd rather get healthy.

Bottome line guys -- it's the Jets. They suck this season.

Revis is on his last wheels to boot. Even so just throw the ball away from Revis.
Give more touches to Dion Lewis and this is Malcolm Mitchell's chance to shine.
On top of that we still have Edelman, Amendola, and Bennett. Plenty of weapons for Brady.

Biggest concern as always is can the OL consistently perform. They've been much improved under Dante's coaching and if they keep Brady clean, we win this game easily.

NM - this thread was about the San francisco game. Why the thread necro?
Anyways everything I said applies to the upcoming Jets game.

Givens is the textbook example.

Mitchell seems to play much, much bigger than 5'11"........ is that his actual height?? Nice breakout game, Malcolm

Give "twist and blount" the ball early and often in the first half, then let TB pick em apart in the second half.....

I hope Hogan plays having him out there would cause the Jets Defense some problems.

I don't have a good feeling about this game. Jets play us close every single time. I have a feeling Fitz will throw six picks or go off..ugh....

As for Gronk, guy is injury prone.

Sigh, here it goes again. Before this season he played in 35 in a possible 37 games the last 2 years. And after the Thomas hit he still played.

Still though. As great as he is, l worry every time he takes a hit.
