This post had me thinking. What about a backdoor trade agreement.

The Browns draft Hunter and once June 1st comes they trade Hunter and Watson for 2nd rd pick. They finally get to dump Watson's contract.

The Browns save 1 million this season and save 40 million next season, plus they get rid of the distraction of Watson off their team.

The Patriots then work out an extension in way with Watson that allows him to be cut in next year's offseason in a way that doesn't kill the cap, allowing him to try and find a team in need of a starting QB that might be willing to take the risk.

Why does Watson do it? He sticks it to the Browns for wanting to move on from him and the owner publicly admitting they made a mistake trading for him. Knowing the Browns had to give up the best player in the draft might be enough to motivate him.

Obviously this won't happen.
