Greg Bedard dealing with Playoff Level Stupidity Listening Thread

thanks...and hopefully folks will keep the pissing contests to a minimum....

Brady had guys open on the 2nd straight sack.

It was overall a bad matchup (Pats D vs. Kubiak's O)

Said some of the formations by the Ravens offense confused Collins and Hightower affecting the defense early. I missed the first part so I am kinda guessing a little bit.

Kubiak took advantage of the Pats' tendencies. Said that the fact they wanted to bump Daniels off the line allowed them to throw to the flat.

Pats historically start out slow after a bye.

The Ravens ran way from Vince.

Not overly alarmed. Just a bad match up for the Pats.

Expects the NFL to tweak the rules based on play. Expect to make it so that defenses have more time.

Great that they had a game like this off the bat. Kicked the offense into gear. It was still a wake up call. Got the ball rolling.

Opinion on the Colts haven't changed (average team). Said that their wins are more on their competition. He thought a mediocre Manning could have won the game. He was awful.

Sunday was a typical Andrew Luck game. Several breath taking throws and a several what the hell is he doing types of throws.

Bedard also used the word mediocre to describe the Patriot offense (though said with the implication that they were under performing).

And you know, I didn't have a problem with it at first. It's a word I have used as well - but in thinking about it, how is an offense that scores 35 points considered mediocre? What is it that we demand of them before we consider them a "good" rating? 40+ points? 50+?

The O had a decent game and they still scored 35...if this O is rolling..would have scored 40+

Felt Brady's play was good and had some great plays. Had more plus plays then most of the games this season. Had some negative plays and trick plays helped. A good, not a great performance.

Didn't understand why they started with Brady under center. Should have spread them out to start.

The Ravens' secondary is terrible. Can't tackle in the secondary at all.

Overall Revis was pretty good. On the Steve Smith TD, Revis missed the jam.

The bunch sets screwed up the Pats' man to man.

Says the Colts are better on the o-line than the last meeting. Arthur Jones returning helps (been ok, but an upgrade). Other than Vonte Davis, their secondary is weak.

Brady isn't perfect.

But really, to say he was only good, not great this game is just taking objective criticism too far.

Especially in the 2nd half. Down the stretch, he was Mr. Clutch.
