If you read the article, it doesn’t actually say he just eloped — only that he just announced publicly that they got married. Given that he’s not even revealing his wife’s name to protect her privacy, it’s possible it was a while ago.

I was just going to post this. Really poor timing by the kid, couldn't it wait 'til after the season? If Henderson has a bad game, we know why.

The story says they got engaged on Sept 9th - - so just before the first game of the season.

I see a symmetry there.

Looking at the size of her I suspect Mrs Maye is a bit like Mrs Maust, she loves baking but isn't necessarily a serious consumer of her own product. It isn't at all unusual for my wife to happily spend hours in the kitchen producing all manner of goodies only to avail herself of a single sample as a quality control measure then send me off delivering the rest of her efforts. I think she may do it just to get me out from underfoot but as yet it remains a supposition for which I have no proof.
