I seriously doubt Perry would be the pick. First, all reports say he's a perfect fit for a scheme like Indy's (along w/ Evander Hood) -- and I agree. Secondly, I find it odd that the Pats haven't shown any (reported) interest in him at all. Not that the Prospects visits/workouts list is the deciding factor, but a lengthy net search shows no Pats connection whatsover, yet NE has shown interest in 17 other DL -- some of whom also don't fit. IMO, Gosselin just plugged him in as the #23 pick because he has him ranked #24 on his top 100 list. Coincidence?

That would seem to be a pretty odd pick. Isn't the whole point of the 3-4 to have huge, tall linemen on the end, to make it hard for the quarterback to throw? You're not having him rush the gaps anyway, so Jerry's particular skills will be useless, and what you'll be left with is an undersized DE with short arms. Very odd. It'd be like drafting Brian Scalabrine to block shots.
