Good Googley Moogly, San Fran has 12 picks in the '14 draft!

Agreed, though I also believe that just like a good QB takes what the defense gives you, a good GM takes what the market gives you. If there's no good player at _______ position then you don't waste a pick by reaching for a mediocre player because they're at that position, I think Tavon Wilson is a great example of that.

Me thinks we're saying the same thing different ways:rocker:

I completely agree, especially in a draft as deep and strong as this one.

I've always thought it was under-appreciated how dynamic a process the draft is. You can go in with a plan, and then the draft starts to fall differently than you planned, and everything falls apart. You only have a few minutes to regroup and decide how to play things different, and making a trade in a few minutes with the clock ticking down is extra-ordinarily difficult.

There problem with Seattle is that they will need to pay everyone eventually... Seattle in particular will be a lot less talented when they have to pay Sherman, Wilson, Chancellor etc.
How do you know they won't just load their team with cheap probowl talent through the draft again?

I liked Carradine coming out. It's unusual to be out so long from a torn ACL, though, and Harbaugh's comments "Nobody owes anyone a career in professional football. Your career is literally your business" makes me wonder how hard he's working to get back.

As for Lattimore, we'll see if he's ever the same from that ridiculous injury.

They were both worthy shots but they aren't draft success stories yet.

As for the previous draft, imagine if the Patriots' top two picks from that year were AJ Jenkins and LaMichael James.

Nope. I certainly didn't mind to imply that at all. It's a 4th round gamble, but one that a top 4 team with loaded up with draft picks can afford to take. If it fails, not much is loss. If he comes back, then the rich just get richer.

Potentially I could see this team storing Easley for a year.

If Easley falls to the 4th round, then drafting Easley and "storing" him for a year while Tommy Kelly plays out his contract would be a very low-cost effective way to go.

I think we should give BB credit for the Marcus Cannon pick a few years ago. Basically it was a "redshirt" pick, but once Vollmer went down, I thought he more than held his own. I wonder if they could bump him down to guard.

He had first round talent, but found out he had cancer at the combine. Two positions I would really like to see the Pats upgrade at in this draft is Safety and Center.

I wonder if Easley suffers from a Greg Romeus or Jesse Williams effect. Have to wonder how team doctors league wide will feel with both acls torn consecutively.
