There's talk that some teams might be inclined to go for 2 every time with the new PAT rule. Pitt would be one team that might do that.

I wonder if BB will consider it game to game. I think the Pats could get 2 on a team like the Colts for obvious reasons most of the time....and there is no-one better than Brady at throwing the short dart to get the yards needed... but we also have a very reliable kicker.

What to do...what to do...

Probably won't happen in our lifetime but I'd love to see the Pats or some team that can pull it off throw the game completely on its ear and never punt.

The Colts couldn't stop me from rushing for 2 yards. Why have Brady throw against the Colts? Just give it to RB X and that's that.

On reddit after a game, i think it was bengals, a non pats-fan poster stated "and lets thank the chiefs for unleashing this"

I think this season a lot of people will be "thanking" the dolts and namely Grigson. Pagano is already saying he has no excuses for the afc game . He is already prolly crapping his pants trying to figure out a game plan against an unstoppable force.

Depends on the team. The Pats probably won't.

Steelers probably will.

At the very least, we know that the fake PAT is no longer a thing.

Chip Kelly?
Which is why I think he signed Tebow, as a 2 pt specialist. Let's suppose they score an average of 2.5 TDs per game. By going for 2, he could be worth 2.5 extra points per game either running or throwing for 2 points, with minimal downside (i.e. the ints or the low percent completion )

I don't think changing a 99.9% PAT to a 99.3% PAT is going to change philosophy.

What I did hear was that if there is a penalty on the kicked PAT on the D you can chose to take half the distance for the 2pt spot and go for 2. That will happen I'm sure.

Or missing it could cost you 2.5 points per game.

From my vantage point, I'm predicting a 100% increase in teams going for 2 points rather than a PAT attempt.

5 OL
TE Gronk
TE Chandler or Fleming or Devlin
Blount
Brady
Edelman wide to spread the field
Lafell wide to spread the field

You can't stop them from running or passing

Over the last five years, teams kicking from their opponents' 14 to 16 have actually "only" managed a 92% success rate.

In fact I hope the Pats do a no-punt game. The screeching from Patriot Hater nation would be worth the result in comedy gold.

Yup. Up by 30 points going into the 4th Q, and just run, run, run, all 4 downs.

Remember a few years ago when NE was beating MIA in NE and they were running the ball, the same play over and over and MIA couldn't stop it? Then one of their DLs complained about it. Would love to see more of that this year.

IIRC, one of the Miami assistant coaches complained as well, as if somehow this were unfair of the Pats.

2016- new NFL rule - Teams are required to punt at least one time in each half. For the good of the 32.
