was Brady a coach? And belichick has 8

Brady did way more coaching than Bill did throwing.

If you wanna count the titles Bill has a defensive coordinator then you better be prepared to acknowledge the pags is a superior defensive coordinator.

Otherwise what's your point? That 6 Superbowls and 2 defensive coordinator Superbowls is better than 7 quarterback Superbowls ?

Weird take.

Interesting

Ok then. Steve magnolia is the best defensive coordinator of all time and by extension the greatest defensive mind the game has ever seen.

Didn't think you'd take that position but I respect the balls.
Who is Steve Magnolia?

A great head coach recognizes talent, and has the guts to act decisively. That’s part of the job.

By your username, I’m guessing you were 15 in 2001. You don’t understand just how much Belichick put himself out on the line, compared with what the landscape was at the time —

- starting a 6th round pick over a 1st rounder #1 overall who just signed the highest contract in NFL history and was locally beloved,
- Belichick had literally done that in his prior gig, was proven right, but was roasted for it and was cited as a major reason for his being ****canned,
- as we learned this year, Kraft himself said that if you start Brady over Bledsoe and don’t make the playoffs, I’m ****canning you.

What head coach does what Belichick does back then? It’s easy to say anyone would with 20/20 hindsight. But you need to understand just how conservative the NFL was at the time. For example, Belichick (and Parcells too) was considered very aggressive at 4th down attempts; when Belichick was canned he was among the most conservative, and it’s because the league shifted, not him. Other starting big name QBs have been benched in the last 25 years — but *because* Belichick set the standard for it being acceptable. It never happened beforehand.

Belichick did what no one else of the time would have done. For that reason alone, he is among the greatest head coaches of all time.

Focus on what Bill did outside of Brady. Both in the 25 years before and the 5 years after.

Brady did way more for Bill than Bill did Brady. Full stop.

Off to ignore with you. You are not only wrong about everything but you are a **** and I do not like you at all. If you must post here I must block you.
The **** season is over, so it’s time to flush, and you are the largest turd.
Don’t bother responding because I will not see it.

Oh and whoever Steve magnolia is, he doesn’t have 8 rings.

He's not focused on the small portion he's just not ignoring the most important part.

But why are you focused on a small portion of his resume?

You weird.

The most important part isn't Brady?

You people are a couple cards short huh hahaha.

Brady isn’t a coach.
He’s the greatest player ever. My favorite player of all time.
No need to hate anyone to acknowledge greatness and give credit to those who earned it.

Excuse me. You're getting too weird on me. I need you to focus.

What does that have to do with the 5 disastrous non Brady Patriot seasons?

Brady probably was more important to the overall success but Bills contributions were amazing and the best any coach has ever done. I don't care for your funny math and for you putting words in my mouth.

Bill coached up the greatest player the NFL ever saw is a huge notch on his belt and I don't understand why anyone would try to hold Brady against Bill that's just not how it works.

Who is Steve Magnolia?

Sigh. This is extremely petty. I'm embarrassed you sink to Andy's level.

Steve Spagnuolo* yes triple checked to make sure auto correct didn't change the name for the extreme dense who don't feel like acting like adults.

Finally. Get lost pal.

That's how you defeat this bozo ladies and gentlemen.

Most loses in NFL history. Diminishing returns. Couldn't coach a young QB for ****.

Anyone who defends that is a moron.
He rehabilitated Vinny Testaverde. He brought along Brady before Brady was effective and won a Super Bowl. He won 11 games with a guy who never played QB in college. He won 7 games with a guy with a shredded shoulder and 10 games with one of the most gutless QBs I've ever seen. The fact is he spent the meat of his career, 20 years, with the greatest QB of all time, and they went to 9 Super Bowls and I don't know how many championship games. That doesn't detract at all from what he was able to accomplish. Just look at the first Super Bowl win and the last Super Bowl win. That was coaching brilliance. Not to mention the Super Bowl wins over the Seahawks and Falcons.

Here are more facts: he did a rebuilding job in Cleveland. He did a rebuilding job in New England. In Cleveland, he was prevented by the owner and fans from switching to away from the bum QB until he finally did it and it immediately showed dividends. In New England, he did the same thing. The owner was so reluctant to switch QBs that he was getting ready to fire Belichick for switching to Brady. In 2022, when Belichick determined Mac Jones was NOT it, the owner prevented him from going another way.

You totally discount what it means to rebuild a team and have them compete.

I had no clue who your autocorrect was talking about but now I know you're talking about Spagnola I'm not going to spend much time trying to explain why that's silly but I will say I'm sure he's extremely proud of his work as a DC and feels very good about his place as a defensive mind in this league but I'm sure he knows his place compared to the Lombardi's and Bills of history.

I did not discount anything. I acknowledge that Brady is the key and Bill was secondary.

It's not only objectively true but it's so true that I don't know why y'all are offended.

Bill was fired. He deserved to be fired. His lack of success without Brady is why.

What's the problem? There is no lie here.

I would never say spag is better than Bill. Just like I would never use their championships as coordinators to distinguish the two.

Just like I won't use Bills defensive coordinator titles arbitrarily in defense of why he's better than Brady.

I'll take Brady's 7 championships over Bills 8 as a better accomplishment given the position Brady plays and given how those are 7 championships at the most important position in all of sports. Where as Bill had Parcells, a HOF coach as his partner and more importantly as his boss.

I wonder how many titles Brady wins with Parcells As his coach and Belichick as his DC? Probably 12.
