Giants WON - we now have the #1 pick

Not if someone trades with us first.
Correct. Why leapfrog up to only #2 when someone else can then still leapfrog you to #1?

As long as we end up with the #1 overall pick, the Patriots will hold the keys to the draft.

And some QB will always be hyped up to be THE ONE. We need to capitalize on that hunger for a new franchise QB.

Still a whole week to play....by my calculations...6 teams with 3-4 wins can still possibly leap frog us in the draft order. There are 9 teams with 3-4 wins...and two of those are the Jets and Jags...who both have 4 conference wins already (we have 2)...and they both beat us at least once as well.

Your calculations are flawed in every respect. We have secured no worse than the 5th pick no matter what happens next week. Conference wins and head-to-head are irrelevant to the draft order except in extremely rare circumstances not applicable here.

Keep saying it.. I really wish the #1 pick went to the best team not in the playoffs down to the worst team getting #18. These past few years and the basic match fixing because its clear teams lose to get a good pick these days (allegedly). Turning it upside down IMO legitimises every single game as a need to win. The patriots purposely not running the football til the last few minutes yesterday was clear as day a point of getting reps for the rookie over playing a balanced offence to win a game.

Saying that.. no team wants to take a QB in this class.. they should go after Darnold.

Trade back, get more assets and take a left tackle, double up later and take another.

Replace Wolf first, that guy stinks.
The pick should be Banks or Campbell (if we think he can stick at LT). Protect your franchise QB.

After the combine and pro days we’ll have a better idea of the direction they should go. Either way they could trade back a couple spots and still get a franchise tackle… teams need QB’s and often overpay.

#1 is a ****load of draft capital, hopefully there will be a new front office so they do not screw this up..

WE all know deep down we are going to trade with Tommy and give him a discount for #1

WWBD… what would Bill do ??
Well, he probably wouldn’t have traded the pick with SD. He would see too much of Edelman in McConkey.

Don’t know if he would have drafted Maye though.

Levis over Maye? Please tell me you're just pulling our collective legs. Now, if you mean Levis as a backup, then that's different. Although I'd still want more picks in the deal.
Imagine if we are 1 and Tenn is 2
Tenn wants the 1st pick to get the QB they want without someone jumping them
We trade with Tenn and get a nice bundle
Then you trade #2 down to 5 or 6 for a haul

Actually, next week might be a great time to finally start Joe Milton III. Just saying...
If Milton lights it up and the Pats win, would that be a good trade off?

I’d hate to have him win a squeaker though.

Lock looked like a franchise QB with 300+ yards and 4 TD’s. Maybe they no longer care about a QB in round one now.
I believe they will be strong candidates in the Sam Darnold sweepstakes.

I have heard more than one people in the media saying, politely, that the Giants won't draft a black QB.

They do when there's a good prospect, too bad this is a bad year for QB prospects, they still should be able to get some good picks for number 1 regardless.
