Giants were terrible YESTERDAY. Eli threw 2 sure fire INT's

Dear OP,

Your ability to rate Football players is piss poor. Please stop doing so immediately.

EDITED to add content so I don't get in trouble:

Calling Alex Smith the worst QB of the playoffs is asinine. Did you miss his performance against New Orleans? Also, yesterday his #1 WR decided not to show up and his #2 WR and Pro Bowl returner, Ted Ginn Jr., was inactive. The only people that caught balls for him yesterday were his two TEs and RB.

You also made a stupid comment about saying the only other player in Ngata's class is Suh. Interesting how a player who plays a completely different position (NT in a 3-4 and occasionally DE versus 3 tech DT in a 4-3 who completely sucks against the run). Also, we have someone on this team named VINCE WILFORK who happens to not only be in Ngata's class but played a hell of a lot better than him yesterday.

I'm sorry, but Alex Smith really sucks. If you don't see that you don't watch much football, and I probably won't be paying much attention to your other opinions.

This is one stat that is going to keep me awake at night: SF sacked Eli 6 times and knocked him down 12 times and he STILL made the plays.

I think we can all agree Eli is considerably more mentally tough than his brother. You sack Peyton 6 times and knock him down 12 and the Colts lose 9 times out of 10.

He's a QB that has had 6 different Coordinators and QB coaches in a 7 year career. His Top 2 WRs are 1st round busts. He's an above average game manager but what he showed against the Saints (and on occasion a few other times this year) is that with the game on the line he can make things happen.

I don't care if you pay attention to my other opinions. You've never posted anything that makes me feel like you know much about Football either.

He is more mentally tough than any qb I have seen when it comes to that. Most qb in the league would have happy feet at after a few of those hits, he was being demolished. I think he might be a bit not fully there.

All that says is that the Giants offensive line is quite porous and not very good. They averaged only 89 ypg rushing, so they get little push in the running game to amtch their atrocious pass protection.

Manning lucked out in ending up with no INTs when he threw what should have been two obvious picks.

Ugh, until this year, of course, I always wondered if Peyton is just injury proof. Now I wonder the same about his brother. I saw him get absolutely leveled several times.

Here's his playoff stats, a little blurry sorry. The pink vertical bar highlights his INT's. It doesn't include yesterdays performance,

2 INT's 22-36 239YDS 61.1% 57.5QBR 1 rushing TD <yesterday

Wow, you forget how bad he was in the 2007 AFC game.

Just wanted to point this out since the media keeps talking about the Giants being "red hot".

Yes, theyre a great team. Battle tested. Gritty. But still terribly inconsistent. Perhaps it was because the ball was wet and the field was slippery. I don't know. But as someone who doesn't watch a whole lot of Giants games, I was not at all impressed last night.

Eli threw 2 surefire picks yesterday. Both were botched by the same 49ers player (Dashon Goldson) being overly aggressive and running into his own team mate.

Alex Smith was easily the worst QB in the entire playoffs. Tebow is more of a threat. There was one 3 and out at the end of regulation where he missed all 3 of his targets by huge margins. He looked like a high school QB to be honest.

49ers kick returner makes a bone headed play. He had no business being near that ball when it was bouncing around.

And with all that, the Giants were still taken to overtime by the 49ers.

Then that same kick returner fumbles the ball and gives the Giants an easy FG.

Sure they beat the Packers. But last night they could barely beat Alex Smith on a bad day. Our offense will have a better game against the Giants defense than we would've against the 49ers defense.

49ers are one of the few teams that might be able to cover our dual TE's. Pat Willis is the fastest LB in the league and could run step for step with Gronk AND is athletic enough to knock away passes. They also have a good pass rush with Aldon Smith and Justin Smith. The Giants also have good pass rush but nobody to line up with Gronk and Hernandez.

Nothing else to say.... I can't wait for the Superbowl.

Agree with the part about the Giants not looking that great--neither team did IMO. But I disagree that the Giants are the better matchup for us. Patrick Willis is a stud, but the 49ers have been so overrated all year it's criminal. The Giants have better athletes, better coaching, a legit QB, and are 'battle tested' as you said. I hate to say it, but last night Eli showed that he is one tough mofo who doesn't get rattled even if you knock the crap out of him. It should be a whale of a game.

They are a 9-7 team that got hot at the right time. They have 2 weeks to cool off and get ***** slapped.

yea but we weren't "HOT" when we went into Foxboro and won this year.AND we didn't have Bradshaw and Nicks

or we were an injured team that got healthy at the right time

Funny, that. The Patriots are a team that was dealing with injuries all season, too, and they've gotten back most of those who didn't get IR'd now, too. They've changed at least as much as the Giants have.

I wonder if that might help on their side....

Defensively, the Niners would have presented a greater challenge, and it would have been a lower scoring SB. Great pass rush, and LB's that could lessen the impact of the Pats TE attack.

Offensively, they would have been much easier for the Pats to handle.

I agree - i think your defense is def better than it was...

I would just say that I don't think your ceiling as a defense is as high as ours is, if both sides were completely healthy.

Having Tuck and Boley back and 100% (or as close to it), with Osi and Prince returning is huge for us. Plus the signing of Blackburn was one of the best signings we've ever had.

I won't talk about ceilings, because that's kind of a waste of time with just one game left in the season. However, the Patriots defense, the personnel of which I'd join you in maligning (at some positions), allowed fewer points than the Giants in the regular season and, like the Giants, has allowed a high of only 20 points to this point in the playoffs.

Tough to compare. The Giants had a much harder regular season schedule, and had to get through GB in the playoffs.

We had our defense for only 2 games of the regular season while also having to play the top 3 offenses in the NFL: You guys, Saints, and PAckers.

You guys have also played 2 games and one of them was vs Tebow. We shutout the Falcons and if not for two brutal calls in GB they would of only been held to 6 points. So like I said before, reading the stats doesn't tell the story at all
