You're one of the 2 that voted no, aren't you.If any of what Curran reported about Kraft is true, and let me say I don’t believe it because it’s so idiotic, then Kraft is trending toward Snyder-Jerry’s land. Bourne was last seen having Jonnu Smith talk him down after he showed up Algholor who had just fumbled. If you want to rip apart a team and send away the coach, then have the owner get involved with a personnel issue (over a guy who isn’t even a #1 receiver). The absurdity of this situation is comical when you think of the last 20 years.
Is Kraft Snyder-level stupid?
I'm sure Kraft made an off-handed comment about Bourne not playing. If any of what Curran reported about Kraft is true, and let me say I don’t believe it because it’s so idiotic, then Kraft is trending toward Snyder-Jerry’s land. IMO their is a difference between the owner (who is also a fan) asking the GM / HC about a player on the team as opposed to making personnel decisions. I think he’s earned the right to ask about things such as this.
I’d rather just let them play, as a general rule. It sucks, but the fact of the matter is that 1) the ball should have never been thrown, and 2) Parker could have tried to make a play on the ball. Calling offsetting penalties in no way guarantees that the Pats start 1-0, as @JMC00 was trying to say.Yep then it should have been called.
Good question here's another one...does Bourne think he's better than Agholor?? Based on last year at a fraction of Agholor's cost maybe. If any of what Curran reported about Kraft is true, and let me say I don’t believe it because it’s so idiotic, then Kraft is trending toward Snyder-Jerry’s land. Remember how this board felt about Flacco doing that to us back in the day? It’s crappy football. If they’re hand checking each other, just let them play. Maybe next time, Mac won’t throw a Moon Ball and he’ll have a chance to get the ball to Parker before the SS closes.I agree 100%. I would rather not reward jump ball plays like that with bogus yards. If a WR can outmuscle the DB and come down with it? Fair play to him, that's a good play. But this trend in the NFL (not saying this was Mac's intention necessarily) to heave it up and either your guy comes down with it or he draws a flag is REALLY uninteresting to me. It makes the drive feel... artificial. If they can non-call that kind of thing consistently, that's my preference.
I also think, while that was definitely a hold or PI by Howard, it's not something we haven't seen Gilmore get away with a lot too. Saavy vet DB's know where the refs are, and push the line on what they can do. Sometimes they get caught, but in general that's pretty common for them to get away with. Revis was the master of holding just long enough to disrupt, but not long enough for a ref to notice.
I'm trying to figure out how we even know Kraft is asking such questions now.IMO their is a difference between the owner (who is also a fan) asking the GM / HC about a player on the team as opposed to making personnel decisions. I think he’s earned the right to ask about things such as this.
My understanding is that Kraft definitely noticed Bourne was left in mothballs all day. And he noticed what happened when he finally got on the field. I don’t know if a Bourne ultimatum has been issued, but I’ll bet he’ll have a far bigger role going forward.
So what? Curran has way more access to the inner workings of the Pats than anyone on this board. His conjecture is more accurate than anything we can come up with. BTW it's not like any of this is outlandish.More digging: How do we know what role does Matt Patricia have in all this?
It was the WEEI ass clowns who lead with the following:
In an interview with WEEI’s “Gresh and Keefe” Tuesday, Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston broke open the mystery surrounding Kendrick Bourne’s bizarre benching against the Miami Dolphins in Week 1, naming a familiar culprit in the proceedings.“I think it’s a Patricia thing,” Curran said of what he’d gathered about Bourne’s diminished role. “… I think from what Albert Breer reported about Kendrick Bourne not being fully onboard with the way the install was going, looking at his role and seeing it diminish with two tight ends on the field. There was a meeting prior to the Carolina Panthers [preseason] game that he was just a smidge late to. I was told that resulted in the benching that night.“All those things I think combined have landed him in Matt Patricia’s doghouse.”
Again, 100% conjecture.
He doesn't actually know anything, nor is he saying that he does know anything, but people are taking this as if it's gospel truth, presumably because it's a story they want to believe.
Even worse, this is one mediot (Curran) basing his conjecture on what another mediot (Breer) reported, yet no one seems to notice that.
Talking about being out on a shaky limb...

Matt Patricia's beef with Kendrick Bourne is hurting the Patriots, and it has to stop
Matt Patricia has already shown with Malcolm Butler that he has no qualms about benching a player he has a problem with, even if it hurts the team. He’s doing it again with Kendrick Bourne, and the results are predictably bad.www.audacy.com

This is what happens when you have an organization that runs press conferences like top secret mtgs in the war room. You get a whole lot of conjecture to fill in the blanks.
You seem to be extremely triggered by this story. Bottom line we'll see on Sunday if Bourne gets more snaps or not and then we'll know.

And you don't think we can second guess a Brass who choose Harry over AJ Brown and others??is it possible he's just not one of their top 3 receivers?
sure, he was their "top" receiver last year, but everyone said they needed to upgrade the position
maybe week one he simply played according to what he and others had been showing......
I guess I will ask the question ...Why was Parker only targeted twice in the whole game when he was on the field for all of the snaps. I am not trying to stir the pot just dont understand it. Is it a case of well we tried twice and it did not work out too good so we will go and try something else ?
Maybe he was covered all the time by the Miami secondary ?
You tell em Coach cap.Excellent question. If the answer is that Parker was indeed open, but Mac didn't read the coverage correctly during his 28 other drop-backs, then we have a QB issue that might not be fixed anytime soon, if ever... If the answer is that Parker failed to present himself as a viable target during those 28 other drop-backs, then we have a Devante Parker issue, which fortunately has an Immediate solution: Get his slow, lazy ass the **** off the field and give ALL of his snaps to #FreeKendrick.

Look I'm ok with giving Parker more snaps so he can begin to develop chemistry w/ Mac. Agholor has been & continues to get open. Meyers is good 'ol reliable. But to only have Bourne take 2 snaps is criminal.is it possible he's just not one of their top 3 receivers?
