Didn't see this posted. In yesterday's 3-1/2 minute NPR commentary, Deford notes that this is more about the Commissioner than about Brady, calls Goodell an "embarrassment," and says Goodell represents "a classic case of what in schools they call social promotion." He also refers twice to the "oodles and oodles of money" the NFL and its owners are raking in.

It would be nice if the imbecile owners dumped their favorite imbecile but I doubt it. Not this time. Next time maybe, and you know there will be a next time. The NFL morons never learn.

Next Step : Make this the leading segment in the next "Real Sports". We know HBO has the gonads and are not beholden to the Worldwide Leader.

It's nice that Deford thinks that Scheisskopf should get dumped, but otherwise he's a cranky old dipshit, kind what Dan Shaughnessy aspires to be as he becomes increasingly irrelevant.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend ;)

No commissioner should be highly visible in the public eye. I couldn't even tell you the names of any other major sports commissioners without Googling it. If the commish is hated and is constantly embarrassing the league, it's time to look elsewhere for someone who can do right by 44 friggin' million dollars. I can't believe I'm even writing that. 44 MILLION!!!! Oh lordy-all-mighty. Just keep your mouth shut Goodell, keep the peace and rake in your obscene cash. Doesn't he realize he's making life difficult for himself when it doesn't have to be that way. Just be competent!

Spaulding Goodell aka Roger Smails

I always felt more like Greg Marmalard from Animal House

Yes, I enjoyed listening to this on my way to work yesterday. Thanks for linking it here.

I think Adam Silver toes the line pretty well for the NBA. Between being a new commissioner and being thrust into the spotlight with the whole Donald Sterling thing, he definitely has a lot of visibility. I'm curious to see if he can negotiate the next few years without a work stoppage, but am cautiously optimistic, at least.

Unlike Fraudger Goodell, Adam Silver, Esq. is an accomplished attorney who understands labor and entertainment law. He's doing a good job as NBA Commissioner, but unfortunately still sucks because he's a Dookie.

"put him out to pasture"...is that another way of saying "put him out of his misery?"
