The sudden decision to start Drake smacks of complete desperation and indecision.
The amateurs running this team do not have a clue how to proceed.
The fans are becoming restless and the Peppers incident makes the organization look even worse.

So they sacrifice Drake to make the bad press around Peppers (team captain no less) go away

If they were going to do this why not wait until Saturday to announce it and give Texans less time to prepare.

Mayo, Wolf, AVP are the keystone cops. I do not believe Mayo has any real authority. He is simply a figurehead.
I have lost all confidence in Kraft also.

This organization is circling the drain and will go nowhere until they bring in decisive courageous leaders who are not so concerned with pleasing the fans and making friends.

How do you know Maye isn’t ready? His weekly reps have increased since the beginning of the season.
Nobody hear knows if Maye is ready or not. If I had to guess week in and week out he started to really show some stuff to the team that he was ready.

The fact of the matter is, this isn't a move made out of desperation or to give the fans something shiny to look at. No, it would be far, far worse if Maye plays and sucks big time and then the allure of having a high QB for the future is gone. That is far more damaging to the teams outlook. Maye is literally the last hope this franchise has right now, the last card they can play.

They aren't stupid enough to screw that up. Sorry, I don't believe that.

If he doesn’t play great this year that’s not a damning thing. This year is about him playing, learning, growing and developing.
The goal is how he plays next year. He may take some lumps but they all need to get those out of the way.

No QB could succeed behind this OL.

The NFL has been designed for mediocre QB's to come and and put up numbers due to the rule changes. This whole "sitting a player" is overrated. You don't draft a player #3 overall to erase one year when you have him on a potentially 5 year rookie deal. A HC and a GM need to find out quickly whether he's the guy so they can pivot and try to save their jobs.

It's the right move to play him now. He's not learning anything from watching Brissett. In fact, I think it hurts him.
Depends on the length of time sitting. I don't think a rookie QB is ready to start day 1, I feel like that is saying that everything you learned in college is good enough. It is a different game, so while there have been some QBs do well from day 1 I think that is more exception than the rule. I think every rookie QB should sit at least the first month.

If you are saying they should start day 1 I disagree, but if you are saying they should play at some point in their rookie year I agree with that. I assume you are saying don't sit the entire first year, but wasn't sure your meaning.

Peyton Manning looked like a future bust his first season, but flipped a 180 in 1999 and turned into one of the best of his generation.

Josh Allen was pretty bad from the start and was looking like a potential bust.

It won't shock me if Maye struggles because of the lack of talent on offense, but I'll be looking to see if the talent/potential is there.

All I know is every Jete rookie QB was ready to start ...

Problem is that the team is owned by a fan, and it’s essential to please him.

Looking forward to seeing what Maye and the coaches can do with 95% of the practice snaps and a plan built around Mayes strengths.

@Sam Bam Cunningham

No sarcasm here. I love your posts man. You say how you feel with no regard. That’s how it should be. Too many candy asses do the opposite.

That said, yea it’s a clown show and am expecting a clown car to show up midfield to let the OL out if their **** play continues. As for mayo doing what he’s doing, he’s a noob coach and needs to learn. Dare I say I like drake. This is going to take time and I like everyone here wants results now I think.

That said, I think things will improve with Maye playing. Think he can take the hits and not ***** out and cry when he’s hit hard. I DEFINITELY cannot see him crying like Mac did.

Hope I’m not wrong.

The QB model was Brady and Mahomes sitting out 1 whole season [ pretty much ] before taking the stage. Maye was supposed to follow the plan.

A 4 game losing streak, mutiny, players going rogue to media, a so called Pats Captain being arrested on a variety of serious charges took care of that plan. And these are the examples of chaos that we can confirm.

It's not Mayo pulling the levers. It is the Wizard of Foxboro Bob Kraft who is the man behind the curtain.

As a famous philosopher once said, everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

No, they didn't. 6 weeks for Maye is good enough. They aren't that stupid to put him in if he wasn't ready.
Is 6, 8, 10 weeks really a big deal?

If he starts every game for the ready of the season, he will have started exactly as many games as he did last year at Chapel Hill.

I'm beginning to think that Sam Bam is nothing but a troll. He *****es about everything. I wonder how many times he typed Cheatriots when he was posting on other teams' forums?

For the first time ever, I'm going to use the ignore thread function.
