I was watching Kurt Warner breaking down film on his YouTube channel (which is really good btw) and explains what a QB should be looking for against defenses. You'd be surprised at how many opportunities a QB passes up without getting pressured and makes the OC look like he drew up a 5 yard dump off. He does have some games of Mac Jones but it's the preseason.

I'd like to see the game film and look at the play design to see if it's the QB or the OC.

In the case of Mac, it's the QB. Both Mac and Josh have acknowledged it. But hey, he's a rookie, hasn't turned ball over, and if not for a few plays he'd be 2-0. Pats have other issues other than QB that are more concerning.

I think they are the same person, because both of them seem to have big holes in their memory of things that have happened the last 20 years. They seem to get quite a lot of things wrong.

Yeah well this is true then. Contrary to construction worker guy beliefs, it's not that Mac has a bad arm. It's the OLine sucks so bad and regardless of whatever crappy shotgun play is called, Mac is looking first for the quick throw. The right read. This is all a concern I had abou Mac playing too soon, going to get bad habits from an oc calling sh-tty plays that get Mac hit a lot otherwise.

I am usually pretty neutral on Josh but yesterdays play calling was terrible. Pretty bad all game but horrendous when the game was on the line at the end.

I rarely if ever questioned or disagreed with any of his play calls.

He knew when to run the ball.

I mean the first 3 Pats drives were literally like this: 3 and out. 3 and out. 3 and out. Three straight 3-and-outs !! Usually after a week of game planning, at least your first 10 plays are strong/good. Not the opposite where before any adjustments are made, the defense is completely shutting you down already.

Also before mac's first INT, go watch those plays. THREE STRAIGHT hits on 3 straight passing plays. The play of the INT was hit while trying to throw, probably bad coaching where during the week the coach kept telling Mac that he left all these open WRs last week so hold the ball longer and "be brave", take the hit and go for deeper distance. Inevitably leading to a 3-INT day. I would have bet a lot of money on this outcome given how predictable and dumb the oc is.

The offense is so f'd with this coordinator.

Weiss also knew how to set up a defense. He would run left a couple times and make the defense remember it. Then in red zone he would make it look like that but fake the defense out for something else. Or run up the middle a lot, then in a key moment use that look for play action. Or, if he used what looked like an obvious passing play, instead he'd take advantage of the defense's over-aggression and then throw a screen right behind the rushers. We NEVER see that with the current oc. Guy has zero clue how to set up a defense. Weiss won a Superbowl with Jermaine Wiggins at TE, David patten at WR, JR Redmond on the final Superbowl winning drive. Stephen Neal was an undrafted wrestler on the OLine. A ton of those guys were totally random guys who weren't even on the Patriots before 2001.
