Could be as innocuous as stepping on a shell or a pop-top at the beach. Something that keeps him from practicing, that was not a football injury. Difference between NFI and PUP is probably a CBA thing. No big deal. At least not yet.

edit: or failed the conditioning run? as I said, no big deal.

Patriots.com depth chart lists McClellin and Johnson as LBs. So not as lopsided as you suggest. Although still thinner at LB, DE is really deep and so is DT. Will have to wait and see how it sorts out in camp.

That depth chart is no more official than what you or I see. They have some intern doing it or something, not the staff.

I'd like to see McClellin at LB but it didn't look like that was the plan at OTAs. Then again, they had Ninkovich at ILB so you can't draw too much from those. As for Johnson, he has exclusively played DE for us since last preseason.

You would think Branch would get his fat ass in shape BEFORE training camp, considering he ****ing KNOWS the conditioning run is coming up and he has failed it a zillion times. ****ing moron. It's like the idiots who keep getting caught with weed in their systems during drug tests every time.

The Patriots.com Depth chart doesn't mean a damn thing. While it's run by the Patriots Organization, it's not run by anyone on Belichick's staff. This is well known.

Over-react much? Branch didn't actually do the conditioning run.

Didn't see it mentioned by anyone:

Changing numbers for #Patriots: Martellus Bennett from 83 to 88, Clay Harbor from 88 to 81, Bryce Williams from 81 to 48

Kamu was issued 48 for the defense so be weary.

Supposedly a hip injury that has been reported to be minor.

At this point in his career Ninkovich qualifies as a wily old pro who has seen it all. Who better to play Mikeman and diagnose plays and set defenses.

This is a very young D, so why not utilize Nink's experience ?
