I don’t even want to see Flores get the “mandatory black guy interview”

If they hire him, We are doomed !
Look at how he treated Tua

No thanks
“how he treated Tua” is a statement to unpack.

"if you woke up every morning, and I told you that you suck at what you did, that you don't belong doing what you do, that you shouldn't be here, that this guy should be here, that you haven't earned this right,… - Tua on Coach Flores

I don’t want him anywhere near Maye. Very good DC but the coach/Qb relationship it’s important, especially in today’s NFL. Even if Flores wanted Herbert, he should have tried to make the best out of Tua.

The biggest problem with Bill’s coaching tree is they all try to be like Bill but without Bill’s history. Players aren’t gonna buy into the ******* head coach approach if you don’t have the record to back it up.
Was Flores wrong ? Did Tua win anything in the pros w/o Flores ? Why is he crying about it a few years later ?

Grow up, Tua.

Tua is a good weather WK QB, when he has STALLIONS.
Everyone thinks McDaniels is a stud, he is a ****y without his stud, and he has stallions in the group. He's noone without EVERYTHING IN PLACE.
His defense sucks.

How's that "Offensively minded" POS? YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY.
He's MEDIOCRE at best...yeah, you clowns used to beg for him..losers.

Perfect Example of what you CLOWNS are asking for.
What has BJ ever done? Crush people as an OC, with a SMOKING OFFENSE at his disposal..
Look at the players he has, they are stallions ACROSS the board, along with a great OL.
I'm not sure what's up, and why people think he is so great.

I’m calling it now. Vrabes is HC by Friday, and he wins 8 games next year narrowly missing the playoffs. Pats also become the team that is a PITA to play.

And that’s a massive success for me given the state of the franchise.

Ya, Flores was wrong. Tua was a rookie who needed coaching. Flores was pissed they drafted him and decided instead of coaching him and trying to make him better he’d treat him like ****. And let’s not act like Tua is a ****ty player. His issue isn’t his ability, it’s staying in the field. He was with a tough coach in college (Saban) and was fine.

I’m not rushing anything. The Pats opening is the best one and top candidates will be willing to wait on them to pick.
Thats not necessarily true. Maybe Vrabel does not want to wait. He can have a huge jump start of 4 weeks of assembling his staff.

Please don't fk this up, just give Mike the keys and move along.

I think Flores ****ed up too, but let's not act like Tua is a great player who is a dream to coach.

Or that Tua is amazing qb. He became good when hill came into town. Without the best receiver in the game Tua is mid. Also Flores did not limp out of Miami. His record after the initial first 8ish games was spot on and improving.

Weak qb was most of the prob, Flores as first time coach was rest. Neither prob will be the case here. Maye would never act this way, or so my impression goes

Have always like Flores, but it seems the writing is on the wall for Vrabel..
You never know as some team might overpay Vrabel and it is always good to have plan B..

Flores is good, I’m not sure if he’d like Drake Maye but he’d be fine. You just don’t want a situation where the coach is calling Maye weak or soft and then we’re right back to where we are now 2 years from now. That and of course he’s a defensive guy and unlike Vrabel hasn’t shown a track record of being able to identify successful offensive coordinators. Unless I’m missing someone.

I thought I read he thought Tua was too small with not enough arm strength....could be wrong though.
If he became HC here I'm confident he could have the defense back stout and finally beat tua.

If he really wants the job he will wait until the Pats go through their full interview process. I doubt the wait willl be too long. Realistically I expect that the Kraft’s are going with Vrabel but trying to rectify last offseasons mistake in the process of just handing a job over to someone on the spot. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t him.

I kinda think they already have an agreement in place and the have gone through the motions trying to appear like they don't. Leftwich and Hamilton were not serious candidates. They just skirt the Rooney Rule. The Ben Johnson interview will be online. I would not be surprised if Vrabel is hired by Friday.

Of course he is, most attractive opening in the NFL.

This is great. It feels like the Patriots HC job is the most coveted. It’s probably 1A for Vrable and Johnson or at least I hope it is. I would love Flores back in some capacity, not sure if he could be the HC or not, maybe the assistant HC. It just feels good that a lot of coaches seem really interested in coaching here!!
That's a major change from last year. Hopefully they'll get the right guy.

The coaching decision now reflects a decision I made many years ago.

Kraft had a chance to get Vrabel last year but felt committed to Mayo and gave him the job. Kraft has seen the mistake and is now hopefully making the right choice, which could possibly be Vrabel.

Back in 1976 I had tickets to see Elton John in Foxboro for the country's bicentennial concert. I had my eye on a little cutie and asked her if she wanted to go. She said no because she had a boyfriend, so it never happened. I was so sad I didn't even go.

Weeks later the little cutie told a mutual friend that she wasn't going out with her bf anymore. I stupidly started thinking that she had her chance and that I might not ask her out again. But then I decided, like Kraft is now with Vrabel, to give her another chance.

We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary 3 weeks ago. I hope Kraft's decision works out just as well.
